Safety is at the core of everything we do.
Last week the held a SafeWork NSW Demo Day, generously hosted by Merlo Australia , providing SafeWork NSW inspectors with the opportunity to gain hands-on experience with a range of Elevating Work Platforms (EWPs).
Following the success of a similar event earlier this year for WorkSafe Victoria, interest from SafeWork NSW was overwhelming, with 80 inspectors registering to attend. To meet demand, a second Demo day has been scheduled for next month.
Supported by Merlo Australia Haulotte Australia JLG Industries Australia Safety Systems (EQSS), Ahern | Snorkel, Monitor, Almac Pacific and , the day featured live demonstrations and direct interaction with machine experts.
Inspectors explored:
Machine types and selection
Emergency retrieval and secondary guarding systems
Machine operation and safety features
Hands-on familiarisation with machine controls in a supervised environment
The day also highlighted the resources and training EWPA provides to support a safer industry, including our Good Practice Guide, technical guidance documents and toolbox talks.
