With climate change and a Super El Niño shaping up to be one of the strongest on record, communities around the world are bracing themselves for weather patterns that will make clean water, decent toilets and good hygiene more difficult to access.

We are working to strengthen climate resilience in communities on the frontline of climate change, so they are better prepared to sustain and recover from extreme weather events.

Happy International Coffee Day to all who celebrate.

Coffee growing regions are more likely to lack access to clean water, sanitation and hygiene due to their rural locations and lack of public utility connections. WaterAid works with coffee growing communities to find solutions that work for them for now and into the future.

After taking part in WaterAid’s hygiene training at the Svay Chuk Health Centre, Chhend has been sharing her knowledge on the importance of clean water, decent toilets and good hygiene with pregnant women and new mums.

This December at the UN Water Conference, we’re calling on world leaders to invest in safe, dignified care for every woman and every birth.
