What does it really mean to be tough?

For more than a decade, Steve Baker built a reputation as one of the AFL’s toughest competitors.

But some of his hardest battles came after football.

Losing his career. Losing his dad. Losing his close mate Shane Warne. And learning that sometimes the strongest thing you can do is admit you’re struggling and ask someone for help.

Movement and good people became a big part of Steve’s way back.

“Putting your hand up and saying you’re struggling, that was hard and tough to do.”

Steve shares his story with Darren Templeton in the latest Community Story: What It Really Means to Be Tough.

Purpose Beyond the Finish Line

Jaryd Clifford has been a valued member of the wider Run the Tan community for many years.

Like many in our community, we've admired his achievements as a Paralympian, World Champion and world record holder. But behind those achievements is an even more inspiring story of resilience, vulnerability and purpose.

In this latest Community Story, Run the Tan founder Darren Templeton sits down with Jaryd to explore the person behind the medals.

Together they discuss the highs of representing Australia, the heartbreak of Tokyo and Paris, the importance of asking for help, and why true strength doesn't mean doing everything alone.

Thank you, Jaryd, for sharing your story so openly and honestly. We hope it inspires others as much as it inspired us.
