Happy Yess Community Arts exists to support local, original music and performance, and the artists that create it. We are a not-for-profit arts organisation based in tropical Darwin dedicated to championing the underground and providing a weekly program that is as diverse and inclusive as Darwin itself. Created in 2006 to champion the underground, Happy Yess provides a place for bands, songwriters

, emcees, DJ’s, producers and artists of all genres, to grow and experiment in a beautiful venue and for locals to meet and enjoy live music in a friendly, drama-free environment. (Except for the wet-season break). Check the Events page on our FB for what’s on. It could be literally anything! Music includes: Local original Darwin bands, with guests from across the NT, interstate and occasionally overseas. Bands might play rock, electronica, reggae, hip-hop, folk, death metal, roots, weird experimental, or whatever they please. It normally costs between 5 and 10 bucks and most of that money goes directly to the bands. We LOVE arty stuff as well as gigs. Arty stuff includes: visual art exhibitions, spoken word, film, karaoke, lecture nights, open mic jam nights, comedy, ping pong, drum n bass bingo, weirdo book club, whatever. There’s a million awesome things happening - and if there still isn’t what you’re looking for you can host it yourself! Get in touch with us about your idea.

The Development Officer drives the financial sustainability and growth of Happy Yess Community Arts Inc. by securing funding and partnerships, promoting audience and community engagement, managing arts development projects, and supporting the continued growth of Darwin’s original music and arts sector.
