COTA MEDIA | Celebrate Grandies Day 2026 with movie fun! 🍿
Grandparents Day in the Northern Territory is being celebrated on Sunday 25 October 2026. It is the 6th year of the celebration first initiated by COTA NT with the support of the Northern Territory Government. The day is intended to recognise and celebrate the role of grandparents and older members in Territory communities.
🍿 Those new to Grandparents Day can find a free event and marketing kit on the NT Grandparents Day website, as well as information and resources that support grandparents. The website also includes an events calendar and event organisers are invited to submit details of their event online to help raise awareness of the celebrations and invite community members along to share them.
🍿 COTA NT is inviting grandparents and grand carers to bring along their children to a special screening of a fun, fast-paced movie, COYOTE V ACME. This movie has earned high praise for blending classic Looney Tunes slapstick with genuine heart and will be screened on the Grandparents Day in Darwin, Palmerston, Alice Springs and Katherine. Tickets are available through the COTA NT website at a discounted price and include refreshments.

JOIN US | Rural Seniors Expo on Friday 9 October, 10am–2pm at Coolalinga Central.
Come along to discover information about aged care, health and wellbeing, hearing, dementia, finances, concessions, energy costs, community safety, seniors discounts, home support, advance personal planning and more.
Minister for Seniors Jinson Charls MLA will officially open the Expo at 10.15am. There will also be free presentations, health activities, giveaways and plenty of opportunities to meet local services and ask questions in person.
