🎉 Celebrating our fabulous committee member, Jess Anstiss! 👏💜

A huge congratulations to Jess, who was recently recognised at the 2026 Master Builders NT Excellence in Building and Construction (EBC) Awards, taking home the prestigious Women in Construction Award. 🏆

Jess is a Quantity Surveyor with Laing O’Rourke and has built an impressive career in the industry, while continuing to give back and champion the next generation of women building careers in traditionally male-dominated industries.

In 2025, Jess supported the delivery of STEM program to Year 10 and Year 11 female students to encourage young women to pursue a career in construction. Jess was instrumental to the success of this program, with one student now completing a trade in carpentry this year.

That same commitment is reflected throughout her career. Jess is known by colleagues, clients and subcontractors as someone who delivers, builds strong relationships and, importantly, can always be relied on to follow through.

We absolutely love seeing one of our own recognised for the impact she is making, both professionally and across our broader construction community. 💜

Kicking goals! Congrats Jess, what an incredible recognition that is so deserved! 👏✨

TWO WEEKS left to apply! 💡

Applications for the 2027 NAWIC Bright Ideas Grant Program are closing in two weeks and we want to see the NT represented!

With grants available for both individuals and businesses, this is your chance to turn a great idea into something that creates real impact for women in construction.

💜 Individual grants of up to $30,000 are available to help bring an innovative business venture, program or initiative to life.

💜 Business grants of up to $20,000 are available to help early-stage businesses and organisations develop or grow an initiative that advances women in construction.

The Territory is full of great people and businesses doing things differently. If you’ve got an idea that could create pathways, build capability, or help more women enter, stay and thrive in construction, this grant program is for you!

⏰ Two weeks to go! Applications close Monday, 19 October 2026.

We recently caught up with Annalise Thurlow, a 2026 NAWIC NT Scholarship recipient who recently graduated with her Certificate IV in Project Management Practice. 🎓👏

Annalise is an Assistant Project Manager at Construction and has certainly had a year worth celebrating! She was also recognised at the 2026 NAWIC NT Awards for Excellence, taking home the Emerging Talent – Office Professional Award. 🏆

We’re so inspired by Annalise and the incredible example she sets by continuing to invest in herself, build her skills and make her mark on the NT construction industry.

NAWIC NT is proud to support career development through our Scholarship Program. Seeing the hard work and commitment of women like Annalise, and watching that support translate into professional growth, recognition and new opportunities, is exactly what the program is all about. 💜
