We’re often known for our outdoor place-based experiences, but there’s so much magic that also happens in our studio.

A big THANK YOU to the Community Benefit Fund who supported us to purchase seating banks and camera equipment, allowing us to capture high quality recordings of work in our studio ✨

A few studio highlights from earlier this year include Critical Conversations, ChoreoLab, and Fresh Tracks.

Congratulations to David McMicken, Artistic Director of Tracks, for taking home the Ultimate Legend Award at last night's NT Performing Arts Awards.

An indisputable legend in the NT's performing arts sector, David is a deeply community minded artist committed to making radically local work. Since arriving in the NT in 1993, David has, with his collaborator Tim Newth, created over 300 shows and worked with many thousands of Territorians.

In his acceptance speech, David spoke of his gratitude to live and work on this Country, and of the thousands of rich stories that are here, if we just simply stop and listen.

While David's legendary status has always been known by his community and the sector at large, we are so delighted that he has been recognised at this wonderful celebration of our artistic community!

Congratulations to all the other nominees, finalists and winners - the creativity and artistry in the NT is truly exceptional.

Thank you to for hosting such a wonderful night.

Our Fresh Tracks images today showcase Face Value - traversing the seen and unseen landscape of the aging human face. A collaborative work by Marita Smith, Maari Gray, Merrilee Mills and Bryn Wackett

“The work was sparked by a conversation with my mother in her 94th year of life. I asked her how she felt about her face. Her melancholic reply was... “I just don’t look anymore”. It got me thinking about why, why don’t we look, really look at our ageing faces and value and celebrate them?

Our project ‘in development’ has begun to explore 4 key ideas:

Tracing the lines: the origin of the concept of lines
Learning the lines: What are the processes involved in self-understanding here?

Mapping the lines: What are the connections between the landscape of the Earth/our lives/our hearts/our beliefs/our souls, and the landscape of our faces?

Living the lines: how do we move forward, as individuals and as a collective of older women, in light of this knowledge?"
