This is her Story,

"Volunteering has been one of the most meaningful parts of my journey in the Northern Territory. When I first started, I saw it as a way to give back to the community, but over time, it has given me so much in return: confidence, connection, purpose, skills and a stronger sense of belonging.

Through volunteering with my university, community groups, and multicultural initiatives, I have had the opportunity to meet people from diverse backgrounds, support others, and grow both personally and professionally. Volunteering has helped me step outside my comfort zone, build real community connections, and understand the value of small acts of kindness.

I'm so grateful that I was honoured to be nominated as the 2025 NT Chief Ministerโ€™s Volunteer of the Year during National Volunteer Week, in recognition of my community contribution.

I believe volunteering is not only about helping others. It is also about learning, growing, and becoming part of something bigger than yourself"

This is her Story,

"Volunteering entered my life as an opportunity, but became a place where I found confidence, connection, and purpose. In a new country, during moments of loneliness and pressure, giving back to the community gave a little light back to me too. Now, whenever I give my time to volunteering, it feels like I am giving back to the same light that once helped me find myself

And that is why volunteering will always hold a special place in my heart"
