It was a pleasure to attend the Victims of Crime AGM last night and hear about the important work being undertaken to support people affected by crime.

A real highlight was hearing from Elisabete, Victim Support Program Manager, about their person-centred approach to support, grounded in empowerment, choice and connection. Her reflection that the small changes seen every day are often the real evidence of impact particularly resonated with me. It is a powerful reminder that impact is not only about what we deliver, but how we deliver it.

Volunteers were prominently recognised in VoC's Annual Report for the contribution they make. Across the year, volunteers gave 523 hours of their time, helping Victims of Crime deliver important support to the community.

Beyond the hours contributed, what stood out was the organisation's commitment to its volunteers, recognising their value and providing training that strengthens their skills, knowledge and confidence.
A great example of what meaningful volunteer engagement looks like: valuing the contribution, investing in the individual, and recognising the impact they help create.

As Alice Springs experiences severe storm damage, volunteers are once again stepping up to support people in need, offering practical help, compassion and hope. 🚐 Volunteering SA&NT is bringing the Learning & Development Roadshow to Darwin

Designed specifically for volunteer managers, coordinators, leaders and volunteer-involving organisations, these interactive workshops will focus on practical learning, discussion around current volunteering challenges and opportunities, and valuable peer networking.

We're inviting volunteer managers, coordinators, and organisations from across the state to join us and help explore the issues, trends and opportunities shaping volunteering in our communities. Share ideas, learn practical strategies and connect with others working in the volunteer sector.

Sessions are free for VSA&NT members, with places limited. Registrations are now open for:
