WABA’s staff recently had the opportunity to tour Jordan Spray Insulation’s facility in Wichita to learn more about their operations and the story of this family-owned business.

Founded in 1974, Jordan Insulation has served the Wichita area for more than 50 years, specializing in insulation solutions for residential and commercial construction. Quality insulation helps homeowners lower energy bills, improve comfort, and reduce energy consumption.

Today, the family business is led by Sonnee Jordan-Fisher, granddaughter of founder Stephen Jordan Sr. Sonnee is also an active WABA member, serving on our Build My Future Committee, as well as within our Professional Women in Building Council.

A big thank you to Sonnee and the Jordan Insulation team for welcoming us and sharing their story. We appreciate their longstanding contributions to our local building industry!

Congratulations to Regina Moran of Andover, winner of the 2026 Fall Parade of Homes $500 visa gift card raffle! Regina’s name was selected from among all the names and Instagram handles of those who commented on our Parade of Homes videos each week. Regina provided photo proof that she toured several homes that were entered into this Fall’s Parade, making her eligible to claim her prize today.

Advance voting in Kansas begins TODAY 🗳️
WABA welcomed Kansas Senate President Ty Masterson, during his bid for Governor, for a visit and discussion with several members of our Board of Directors.

We appreciated the opportunity to share perspectives on issues impacting the homebuilding industry, housing attainability, skilled workforce development in the trades, and residential development across south central Kansas.

Thank you, Senator Masterson, for taking the time to meet with our members and hear directly from those working to put Kansas residents into good homes. The general election, or final day to vote, is on November 3rd. We encourage all Kansans to read in on each of the candidates and ballot initiatives, and make it to the polls or vote by advance ballot.

We were able to recognize Jim Goentzel today during the monthly meeting of our Board of Directors. Jim has been designated as a “Big Spike” by the National Association of Home Builders. This essentially means that he has earned 2,000 recruitment and retention points during his 55 years as a member of WABA and NAHB—putting him among the top 25 recruiters in the nation (out of more than 140,000 NAHB federated members).

Upon being recognized, Jim shared that his recruitment efforts are his way of giving back to an organization that has given him so much during his career as a homebuilder.

Thanks to Jeremy Berblinger, Membership Chair, and Derek Claassen, Board Chairman, for presenting the recognition. Be sure to congratulate Jim Goentzel on this milestone achievement the next time you see him! 👏

We love seeing WABA history and promotional materials from years past! Our first Parade of Homes was held in 1954, three years after the Association was chartered. 15 new houses were showcased that first year. These days, well over 100 homes are entered into our Spring and Fall Parades, showcasing the state of the art innovation and craftsmanship of the best homebuilders in the Wichita metro.

Every year we say the same thing: come see the homes. Talk to the builders. Get inspired.

But this year we let Parade of Homes speak for itself.

If you've never toured before, here's the real deal: it's three weekends, dozens of homes, zero pressure. You walk through, you take notes, you talk to the builders who actually built the thing you're standing in. That's it.

Wichita's new construction scene is genuinely one of the best ways to see what's possible before you commit to a build or a buy, and Parade of Homes is the easiest way to see it all in one place.
