Sedgwick County Juvenile Field Services hosted its Success Panel yesterday.
have come together over the past six months to support and empower recently incarcerated youth on their journey toward redemption. Each organization generously donated time and resources to help make a lasting impact on the futures of these young individuals. We all can make a difference.

Fun, games, and candy 🎃🍬

We’re excited to share a fun, family-friendly community event hosted by local small business ICT Cheer Legacy — our Trunk or Treat Extravaganza on Saturday, October 18, 2025, from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at 3919 N Hillcrest St., Unit 3, Bel Aire, KS 67220!

This exciting Halloween celebration will include:
🛻 Creative Trunk Displays & Candy
🍔 Food Trucks
🎵 Music & Games for All Ages
🎃 Costume Fun and Halloween Spirit!

We’re reaching out to our families to invite you to join in the fun and help us spread the word! We’d love for you to encourage your friends and families to attend and enjoy a safe, community-centered Halloween celebration.

Here are a few events that we will be supporting this weekend, and leading up to Halloween 🎃 We've also collected a few safety tips to keep our kids safe:

Safety rules
Go in groups: Never trick-or-treat alone; use the buddy system and have a responsible adult accompany children under 12.

Be visible: Wear bright or reflective costumes, carry a flashlight, and use reflective tape.
Stay on lit paths: Only visit houses with their porch lights on and stay in well-lit, familiar neighborhoods.

Walk safely: Use sidewalks, cross streets at corners using crosswalks and traffic signals, and never cross from between parked cars.
Inspect candy: Have a parent check all treats before eating. Throw away anything opened, homemade, or suspicious.

Costume safety: Make sure masks don't obstruct vision and that fake weapons like swords or knives are made of soft, flexible material.

Avoid strangers: Never enter a stranger's home or car for a treat, or accept rides from strange

As the cold season approaches, Gamma Upsilon Graduate Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. has partnered with The Union Rescue Mission of Wichita for our annual sock drive, "The Omega Sock Mission," to bring warmth and dignity to Wichita’s homeless community. Socks are one of the most requested items in shelters and one of the least donated. Let’s change that.

Our Mission:
• Collect 1,500 pairs of new socks 🧦
• Raise $1,000 in donations to support outreach efforts 💸

Scholars Sideline Support is an educational resource fair taking place during Junior Football League games on October 11th from 9am-2pm at Wichita Southeast High School. This event designed to connect families with the tools, programs, and opportunities that help students thrive.

Yesterday, we had the opportunity to partner with Pearson’s Family Farm for a special farm experience for our youth. It was nothing short of amazing. From face painting and yard games to meeting the animals up close, every moment was filled with excitement, learning, and great connections.

Huge thanks to the Pearson family for opening your hearts and your land to us. Your hard work and hospitality created a space where our youth could explore, play, and feel truly seen. We’re grateful for the memories you helped make possible.

What an awesome day supporting WSU Tech’s Middle School Day at the National Center for Aviation Training here in Wichita, Kansas.

It was a great opportunity for us to work alongside dedicated professionals and volunteers to help create an long lasting experience for our youth. Events like these highlight the importance of preparing for next level education and career pathways that will shape the future of our community. Reminding us of our initial cause and focus of YEIP! Wichita.
