Having fun at the NAACP Black and White Party

07/18/2026

What an incredible evening celebrating the 117th NAACP National Convention! ๐ŸŽ‰๐Ÿ–ค๐Ÿค

The President Tyronne Johnson and the NAACP DuPage County Branch had an amazing time attending the Illinois State Conference Black & White Party at VU Rooftop in downtown Chicago hosted by IL State Conference President Theodis Pace. It was a fantastic opportunity to welcome and celebrate President Derrick Johnson and our national NAACP leadership while connecting with members, advocates, and supporters from across Illinois and the country.

The evening was filled with great conversations, new connections, and a shared commitment to advancing justice, equity, and opportunity for our communities. Events like these remind us of the power of coming together, building relationships, and strengthening the movement as we continue the fight for civil rights.

Thank you to the Illinois NAACP State Conference for hosting such a memorable celebration, and welcome to everyone joining us for this historic week in Chicago!

The 117th NAACP National Convention is officially underway, and we're proud to see members of the NAACP DuPage County Branch representing our community from day one!

Our Veterans Committee Chair, Homer Bizzle, and our newly appointed Political Action Committee Chair, Dr. Robert Dutton, are kicking off the weekend in Chicago as they participate in this historic gathering of civil rights leaders, advocates, and changemakers from across the country.

Their attendance reflects our branch's commitment to leadership, advocacy, civic engagement, and bringing back valuable knowledge and connections that will strengthen our work throughout DuPage County.

We look forward to sharing updates, key takeaways, and highlights from the convention in the days ahead.
