Harmony United LGBTQ+ Community Chorus is a welcoming, inclusive, and accessible community where people can experience the joy of making music together. Yesterday, news broke of a double-murder-suicide at an LGBTQ+ bar in Tucson, AZ Monday night. Today, the police there confirmed it was a hate crime, and the shooter had a list of LGBTQ+ businesses he was planning to target. We stand with the families of the victims. People should not have to live in fear for being themselves and living their lives, including spending the night out at a community bar.

ALMAS - Alliance of Latinos Motivating Action in the Suburbs is hosting nonpartisan Candidate Open House & Forums at the DuPage County Administration Building on Wed. Sept. 9 from 5:30-8:30pm. You'll have the opportunity to meet candidates and learn about their positions on various issues. All candidates have been invited; list of confirmed candidates TBA. This is free and open to the public.

Our guest presenter is Scott Whitehair, a producer, teacher and storyteller who has performed at numerous venues and conferences around the Chicago area. Scott will conduct a brief, but impactful workshop on storytelling, sharing tips on how to "identify a story" and the most effective way to tell stories like ours.
