So thankful for publishing partners in the gospel 😊 Our thanks to Ruben Villar and the team at Ediciones Puma in Peru for their hospitality and kind words—for all engaged in Christian publishing and in collaborating with others, may these be an encouragement for you too!
“Those days were truly meaningful for us because they reaffirmed that we share a common vision and commitment to serving the church and strengthening Christian thought throughout our continent,” says Ruben.
“We are deeply encouraged by the work of publishing literature that impacts the lives of Spanish-speaking readers, especially books originally written in Spanish and shaped by the realities, challenges, and hopes of Latin America. For this reason, opportunities to connect and collaborate are especially valuable to us. We trust that this will be the beginning of many more opportunities to work together in service of the church and in support of those seeking resources that contribute to their growth and formation.”
For MAI Director of Publisher Development Ramon Rocha, seeing the nurture and development of local authorship in Peru was a significant highlight.
“Indeed, we would like to see more and more books originally written in Spanish by Latin Americans for Latin America and beyond,” says Ramon. “Congratulations to Ediciones Puma for having a majority of your titles authored by Latin Americans. The Lord has been using you books to help bring about transformation both in individual lives as well as in society.”
MAI-América Latina Board Chair José Carlos Gutiérrez M. was encouraged by the strong attendance and participation of the Peru workshop attendees, as well as the warm partnerships with all who collaborated to bring about the event.
“Our friends from Puma Publications and Verbo Vivo were warm and welcoming, and I greatly admire their perseverance and excellence in Christian publishing despite regional challenges,” José Carlos says. “The Bible Society staff were very attentive, and I was impressed by the size of their bookstore and the Bible Museum within the facility!”
“This initiative augurs well for the future coming together of like-minded Peruvian organizations who have the vision and heart for the strategic ministry of the written word,” Ramon says.
