Who might you meet to work with on your next book project?

After connecting through LittWorld 2024, four people from four countries worked together to bring a book to life—a collection of illustrated fictional stories designed to delight kids in Jesus.

We’re amazed by the way the Lord brought together Sophia Wong, Shantal de Odicio, José Carlos Gutiérrez M. and Momir Blazek to collaborate on this beautiful project!

“Every story is carefully written to teach important biblical truths about God’s love, the wisdom of His Word, the power of prayer, and what it means to grow as a follower of Christ,” says Shantal of the book, Let the Children Come: BCM Bible Clubs Around the World.

We’re excited to share with you the cover of our poetry group’s soon-to-be-released anthology, Still: Poems of Peace in Times of Turmoil, beautifully designed by Neri Martins.

Neri translated the anthology’s themes of war, peace, faith, and restoration into a visual concept designed to capture the spirit of the work and invite readers into its story.

“The idea was to highlight Christ at the center of everything, even in a broken world,” Neri says, of the design inspired by the Japanese art of kintsugi.

Neri Martins is a Nigerian multidisciplinary creative, graphic designer, music artist, producer, choreographer, and visual storyteller. With a passion for blending art, music, movement, and design, he creates expressive visual experiences that communicate ideas with depth and emotion.

“We had an excellent time talking about being organized—or not!—with our writing,” says Janet Wilson, facilitator of our Online Writers Group, of their recent meeting.

Great practical tips were shared—which we’re now sharing with you 😊

• Take a notebook and pen with you wherever you go. (One of our group members has been doing this since before he went to university—and is now 75! He constantly jots down ideas he thinks will help other people, particularly our younger generations, then uses these notes for his writing.)
• Pray for the Holy Spirit’s help as you write.
• Don’t wait for a deadline—start immediately.
• Set up a good filing system, so you're never wasting time trying to find a file.
• Give yourself a reward at the end of the week when you meet your word target/goal.
• Get an accountability partner or join a writers' group.
