When we were asked to take in a beautiful little red boy from a local animal control last month we already had a pretty good idea who he would go home with. Numerous time adopter Krysta had let us know she was looking for a red puppy to join Ziggy. They came to meet him and the rest is history.

All is going great and they officially adopted the little cutie. Congrats Zulu!

We had a great day yesterday at Fish Lake Beach in Volo, IL with Maggie's Mutts Foundation . It was a wonderful day to share Adopt A Husky's mission, meet new friends, and show off fosters Jack and Luna.

Maggie's Mutts provides volunteer and other resources to partner rescue organizations to support the good work they are doing. Their goal is to enable rescues to save and rehome more pets.

Maggie's Mutts donated several bags of treats for our fosters and other misc items. We had perfect weather with a beautiful breeze. Fosters Luna and Jack were perfectly comfortable spending the day at the beach. Jack was a huge hit with everyone, especially the kids and enjoyed pets throughout the day. Luna was more reserved and finished her day with a nap.

2 year old Jack is a very friendly and social guy who loves pets and hugs. He gets along well with other dogs (has not been tested with cats or tiny dogs) but would be fine as an only dog as well. Meet new girl Igloo who is our newest foster girl. Igloo was found running loose in Chicago during the last heat wave and was in absolutely filthy condition. She was exhausted and hot and dirty and found refuge at Chicago Animal Control after some good Samaritans picked her up. We took her in and got her to the vet for a checkup (all good!) and then our amazing groomer Amanda's Pup and Suds spent an entire afternoon getting her clean. It took 5 baths but she is gorgeous now.

Igloo was a bit shell shocked when she came to us and needed time to decompress. Now that she is in her routine and realizes humans are good she has become a sweet loving girl who absolutely ADORES other dogs and is a very typical Siberian. But she will take a week or so in her forever home to gain confidence and trust. She appears very young-probably right around 1 year old. She is in a foster home with several other dogs and is doing great. She is crate trained and so far appears to be house trained too.

Iggy is not going to be available for adoption until after her spay, which is in two weeks, but we are taking applications now. If you have patience and another dog that needs a buddy, Igloo is a great choice. https://www.adoptahusky.com/home/adoption-process

Foxy is as sweet as she is gorgeous. She came in with another Siberian-Freya-when their owners surrendered them to a high volume facility. As sad as that is that they ended up there, it is obvious from her socialization and manners that she was a loved member of the family. Foxy can be a little wary at first meeting, especially with men, but after a bit warms up. She is good with older kids but is a bit overwhelmed with youngsters.

Foxy gets along well with other dogs, is house trained and crate trained. She is past the crazy puppy energy stage but she is still an active girl. If you are looking for a walking partner or someone to keep you company, apply for Foxy now! https://www.adoptahusky.com/home/adoption-process
