Today, we want to take a moment to honor and celebrate Amanda Bagnall as she finishes her last day with us.

Amanda has been part of Naomi’s House for 10 years, since before we first opened our doors. Over the past decade, she has played an instrumental role in shaping nearly every part of our programming, walking alongside each survivor we serve, strengthening our services, and building Naomi’s House into the organization it is today. Her impact is woven into so much of who we are, and we are incredibly grateful for her years of faithful service.

While saying goodbye is bittersweet, we couldn’t be more excited for what’s ahead for her! Amanda is stepping into the role of Executive Director at Eden House, a new program founded by a former Naomi’s House team member. After 3.5 years of consulting with Naomi’s House, Eden House is preparing to launch, and we are thrilled to see Amanda help lead this organization.

Amanda, thank you for the countless ways you have poured into Naomi’s House and the lives of survivors over the past 10 years. We are cheering you on and can’t wait to see all that God has in store for you and Eden House!

Psalm 91 is a beautiful declaration of God’s refuge, faithfulness, protection, and presence. In verse 11, we’re reminded of God’s watchful care over His people: “For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways.”

What a beautiful reminder that even in the ways we may never see, people are faithfully serving and covering this ministry in prayer. And above all, we can rest in the assurance that God is faithfully watching over this work, too.

We are so grateful for every person who continues to lift Naomi’s House up in prayer. 💜

Each week, multiple staff members lead groups in Cook and DuPage County jails, covering topics like life skills, self-esteem, trauma bonding, and human trafficking awareness.

These groups create opportunities to build relationships, help women recognize signs of exploitation, and connect them with the resources and support they need.

Our Cook County jail group alone has over 200 women participating!

What would your journey look like if you could tell it through flowers? 💐

This week, in honor of Domestic Violence Awareness Month, our Reset community gathered for a special evening celebrating the strength and resilience of survivors.

Each survivor created her own “resilience bouquet,” choosing flowers that represented different parts of her journey. No two bouquets looked the same, just as no two stories are the same. Each was a beautiful reflection of what she has walked through, what she has overcome, and the hope she carries for her future.

91% of survivors who come to Naomi’s House have experienced childhood abuse. Experiencing abuse early in life can shape how someone understands relationships, safety, and trust, and can increase their vulnerability to abuse later in life.

Our staff shared a heartfelt letter reminding each woman of her worth, her courage, and how deeply loved she is. Because no matter where her story began or what she has experienced along the way, her past does not define her future.💜

These groups create opportunities to build relationships, help women recognize signs of exploitation, and connect them with the resources and support they need.

Our Kane County jail group alone consists of over 200 women this fall!

Recently, a woman who had participated in one of our groups was released from jail. One of the first things she did was call Naomi’s House to ask about enrolling in our services.

Through what she learned in the group, she had begun to recognize signs of human trafficking in her own story and knew where she could turn for support.

Celebrating six months sober.
A new, stable job.

And a birthday this month! 💜🎉

This week, we had the joy of celebrating a Naomi’s House participant who is working incredibly hard toward her goals and the life she wants for herself.

As we celebrated all that she has accomplished, she shared that Naomi’s House has played a vital role in building her confidence and helping her stay committed to her goals. More than anything, she shared how our staff has made her feel seen, special, and like she really can do this. AND SHE IS!

We’re grateful for this community that makes moments like these possible for her. Because of you, women have a place to be known, supported, and encouraged to take the next step towards building a life she loves—free from exploitation.
