That’s the heart behind becoming a Hero Partner! It’s not about having endless resources or extraordinary abilities. It’s about saying yes to being a part of the work that God is doing in each survivor’s story.

Sometimes stepping into her story looks like helping provide essential toiletries for a woman entering our programs for the very first time. Other times, it looks like helping provide meals, transportation to counseling or work, or support as a woman takes steps toward stable housing and independence.

This month, we’re inviting our community to “Step Into Her Story” by becoming a Hero Partner and walking beside survivors on their journey toward healing!

In Luke 10, the Good Samaritan didn’t simply notice someone hurting and move on. He went the extra mile. He helped carry the wounded man toward safety and healing.
That’s what Hero Partners do every month at Naomi’s House!

Healing after trauma and exploitation doesn’t happen all at once. And it doesn’t happen alone. It happens through consistent care, safe relationships, therapy, meals, transportation, community, and people who continue showing up.

Faithful support helps women stay on the road toward healing and hope.

When asked why she chose to support survivors each month, this is what one Hero Partner shared.

She saw the brokenness around her and chose not to pass by.

Instead, she chose to walk beside women rebuilding their lives after trauma and exploitation.

This month, we’re inviting our community to “Step Into Her Story” by becoming a Hero Partner — a community of recurring donors who faithfully walk alongside survivors as they heal and rebuild their lives.

In Luke 10, the Good Samaritan saw someone hurting and chose not to pass by. Instead, he stepped closer.

Every woman who enters Naomi’s House has her own story marked by trauma and exploitation. Like the wounded man on the road, healing often begins when someone chooses to walk beside her.

We’re celebrating TWO Reside residents who recently stepped into new jobs! This milestone is a huge step towards long-term independence for these women. We’re so proud of the work they’ve put in to reach this moment!

Meet one of our incredible volunteers, Joy Brown!

We are so thankful for amazing volunteers like Joy who generously give of their time and talents to make this work possible. Fun fact: even while studying abroad, Joy continued to serve by zooming in to tutor clients from across the world!

Having tour guides is a consistent volunteer need at Naomi’s House. If you are interested in getting involved, please visit naomishouse.org/get-involved to learn more!

Five years ago, we celebrated serving 10 survivors of commercial sexual exploitation at Naomi’s House.

Recently, we celebrated serving over 1,000 women since opening our doors—making Naomi’s House the largest provider serving adult women survivors of exploitation in Illinois.

Each woman who comes to Naomi’s House has a different story, but she is met with the same truth: she is worthy of freedom, healing, and a fresh start!

Thank you for partnering with us and making it possible for each of these 1,000 women to walk into a new life and never have to be trafficked again.
