It's , and today we're celebrating the remarkable achievements made possible by our supportive community! This week, the DuPagePads Interim Housing Center welcomed a young mother and her children, including an infant, who were experiencing homelessness. Their arrival at the IHC is a fresh start for this family, and DuPagePads is grateful to our supporters for helping a neighbor in need of safety and essentials, including food and diapers for her children. Thanks to the power of community, this mother and her kids will not have to sleep in their vehicle! Thank you for believing with us that everyone deserves a place to call home.

We're thrilled to celebrate Patrick's journey home this ! His story is a shining example of the incredible impact community support and outreach can have. Back in May 2024, Patrick was living in his van near a busy intersection when he met the DuPagePads Street Outreach team. They provided him with essentials like bottled water and hygiene products. As a summer heatwave hit its peak, Patrick found refuge at the Interim Housing Center (IHC), which offered him much-needed relief AND support.

We are so happy to share that Patrick was accepted into the DuPagePads Permanent Supportive Housing (PSH) program, where he now enjoys the comfort and stability of his own apartment, just a three-minute drive from his job. At DuPagePads on , we are deeply grateful to some of our recent funders for their critical support in operating our Interim Housing Center. As students across the community head back to school this week, please help us send best wishes on to the more than 150 amazing kids across our programs who are returning to school with courage and resilience! To help celebrate, donors and volunteers helped host a Back to School event for our families at the Interim Housing Center.

We're so grateful to everyone who helped make the day memorable, and for the generosity that provided essential school supplies, delicious meals, and new clothing to ensure these kids are ready to succeed! Thank you to UBS Oakbrook Terrace, Wheaton Meat Company, Take Care Volunteer Corps, DuPagePads Young Professionals Council, Community Presbyterian Church of Clarendon Hills, IL, Mercy Worldwide Church, and YMSL.Hinsdale&CH & Young Men's Service League - YMSL in Naperville for all your hard work.

This , please help us express our sincere gratitude to two incredible young community members, Camden from Wheaton and Luke from Elmhurst! Both boys are embarking on their Eagle Scout journeys and chose to support DuPagePads with their projects.

Camden’s project was building a beautiful bookshelf for the IHC activity room, helping us store games and create a welcoming and functional space for over 300 neighbors who are on their journey back home. Camden also organized a board game drive to stock the shelves he so beautifully crafted.

Luke’s project was building a much-needed food and supply pantry for right outside our Access Center, ensuring essentials are always available for our neighbors in need. Luke organized a drive, too, and so graciously filled the pantry shelves with shelf-stable food and personal care items.

Thank you, Luke and Camden, for embodying leadership, commitment to service, and for making a real difference for neighbors experiencing homelessness here in DuPage County!
