Weโre using behavioral science for good by making anti-poverty programs more efficient.
In Ghana, we found that setting goals, making plans, and tracking savings over time can make cash transfer recipients 3.6 times more likely to save for their business. With cash transfer projects in countries worldwide, weโve developed impactful solutions that meet people where they are on their journey out of povertyโand put them on a path to economic stability.
In many regions of the United States, more people are jailed for missing a court date than for anything else. By improving how people are notified and reminded about their court dates, ideas42 has already prevented over 100,000 missed court dates that can lead to arrest warrants and jail time.
Weโre using behavioral science to create better systems and policies so more people can retain their freedoms, livelihoods, and overall well-being.

We worked with the staff of a direct services provider in Detroit to identify the paternalism built into the way they approached their clients and replace it with narratives centered on the agency and dignity of those they serve.
By changing how people think about the root causes of poverty, weโre ensuring that more people in historically and intentionally excluded communities have greater control over their lives and futures.
