When Issa, Gillian and Skyler from Slide Nine Agency asked “Ask Eddie” about political campaigns he was involved in, he told them about the time he convinced 40 Broadway stars, including Al Jolson and the Dolly Sisters, to have breakfast with Calvin Coolidge to fix the President’s reputation as cold and humorless. It worked, and made front-page news the next day with the header, “President Nearly Laughs.”
From there, the conversation ranged from the start of Bernays’ public relations journey, to the influence of his uncle, Sigmund Freud, on the psychology behind his work.
Thanks for visiting, Slide Nine!
