An update about a scam claiming to be from the National Book Foundation.

Earlier this week, it was brought to our attention that readers in our community have been contacted by individuals claiming to be from the National Book Foundation offering publishing, editing, and marketing services for fees. This is a scam that is not affiliated with the National Book Foundation.

The mission of the National Book Foundation, presenter of the National Book Awards, is to celebrate the best literature published in the United States, connect books with readers of all ages, and champion the literary arts as a vital part of our culture.

We are a literary arts nonprofit organization, and we do not offer publishing, editing, and marketing services.

If you have been contacted by anyone claiming to work for the National Book Foundation please do not engage and email us at [email protected].
