In July, Arkansas funded training for nearly 200 teachers on the Hochman Method, and that is only a fraction of the teachers that Arkansas, through the Department of Education, has committed to training this academic year. Multiply 200 teachers across every student they teach in this year and in all future years of their teaching career, and the reach is enormous. Thousands of students will benefit from explicit, evidence-based writing instruction because their state decided it was worth funding.

This isn't a pilot or a one-year grant that quietly disappears. Arkansas is now several years into a sustained, state-funded commitment to changing how writing is taught through the state.

That kind of commitment to literacy is rare and noteworthy. It is a true revolution gaining momentum throughout an entire state. Huge respect to Arkansas for the steadfast approach. The Writing Revolution is proud to be part of the success story in motion here.

A reminder: TWR micro-credentials are here!

Educators completing a Hochman Method® training membership have the opportunity to earn a TWR micro-credential, a formal recognition of their knowledge of evidence-based writing instruction.

To earn one, educators complete their training, then pass the end-of-course assessment with a score of 80 percent or higher (two attempts are available).

Micro-credentials are available for The Hochman Method: 3-12, The Hochman Method: K-2, The Hochman Method: STEM, and Ongoing Implementation: 3-12.

A meaningful way for teachers and school leaders to document their growth in teaching writing.
