▶️ Each year, approximately 16,000 people are released from Tulsa County jail.
▶️ Nearly 40% are rearrested within that same year.

Release is not the end of system involvement. For many, it marks the start of navigating court requirements, fines, and court obligations often without consistent access to housing, transportation, or communication tools.

These gaps are not minor. They directly impact an individual’s ability to meet legal obligations and avoid further criminal legal system involvement.

This is where reentry support and system navigation become critical. What happens after release is one of the most important, and most overlooked, factors in reducing recidivism and improving community outcomes.

Justice-informed solutions start by addressing this moment.

At JusticeLink, we're working to break the cycle by providing a one-stop hub for support for those navigating the criminal legal system.

Meet Theo!

As a Resource Navigator, Theo spends each day walking alongside clients as they work toward stability, connecting them to housing, benefits, and support while cheering them on every step of the way.

What inspires Theo? The belief that everyone deserves love, dignity, and respect. 🫶

Outside of work, Theo enjoys time with his dog Arthur 🐾, discovering new music, and exploring creative outlets from pottery to jewelry making. Theo also has a personal passion for community organizing and mutual aid, and enjoys supporting fellow Tulsans through organizations like Black Q***r Tulsa.

We’re grateful for everything Theo brings to JusticeLink. Thanks for being part of our team!

🌟Partner Spotlight: DVIS 🌟

JusticeLink is proud to partner with DVIS to expand access to critical support in Tulsa.

Through this partnership, DVIS now offers free, on-site Batterer Intervention Program (BIP) classes at JusticeLink, removing financial and logistical barriers to a 52-week, court-ordered program. A DVIS clinician is also co-located on-site, providing assessments and ongoing support for individuals impacted by interpersonal violence.

Together, we’re making essential services more accessible and strengthening support for individuals and families navigating the legal system. 💙

For many people navigating the legal system, staying on track isn’t about motivation. It’s about whether the right support is actually within reach.

At JusticeLink, mental health support looks like:
🌼 Connecting someone to mental health treatment that fits their individual needs
🌼 Providing case management to help them stay organized and accountable
🌼 Helping enroll in benefits like SNAP or other essential services
🌼 Making sure they can get to appointments with reliable transportation

This coordinated, low-barrier approach helps individuals meet court requirements while improving long-term stability and outcomes.

It’s a practical model for how service access can directly impact system efficiency and community wellbeing. 🌷

Today we're excited to spotlight and celebrate Lisa 👏✨

Lisa’s story is one of purpose, growth, and hope.

After more than two years as a Community Reception Coordinator, she’s stepping into a new role as a Resource Navigator.

Her work is deeply personal. Lisa knows firsthand the challenges people face after incarceration, and she uses that experience to walk alongside others as they rebuild.

💙 “I have found my purpose and calling.”

In her new role, Lisa is focused on building meaningful relationships with clients and helping them navigate pathways to housing, benefits, and other critical resources. This kind of person-centered support is at the heart of how JusticeLink helps individuals move forward and successfully navigate the legal system.

Outside of her role, Lisa stays grounded by focusing on the positive, a mindset that shapes how she shows up for both her team and the community. ☀️

Please join us in congratulating Lisa on her new role!

Each year, thousands of people leave jail in Tulsa County.

What comes next is often fragmented. Court requirements, housing, transportation, treatment, and employment are all spread across different systems, with no clear starting point.

Even when services exist, the lack of coordination creates real barriers 🚧

JusticeLink brings these services together in one place, making it easier to navigate the system and move forward 🤝

Mental health and system involvement are deeply connected 🦋

When mental health needs go unmet, it becomes harder to show up to court, stay in communication, and follow through. What looks like “noncompliance” to the legal system is often a lack of support.

And the consequences can escalate quickly.

JusticeLink connects individuals to mental health care alongside practical support like connection to essential resources, employment navigation and court navigation, making it easier to move forward and find stability 🫂

When people have the support they need, outcomes improve for everyone 💛
