The Tristesse Grief Center offers an array of services, including counseling, training, education, memorial events and support groups, all dedicated to healing the grieving heart.

If you’re navigating the loss of a loved one, we’re here to help. The Grief Center is hosting one more round of grief groups this year starting the week of November 2nd. Each 7-week group, led by our team of grief experts, is organized by type of loss and free to attend, but registration is required.

Last week, The Grief Center attended three amazing events!

We were happy to connect with mental health professionals at Mental Health Association Oklahoma's Zarrow Mental Health Symposium and share our resources at the Montereau Wellness Fair on Friday.

Then on Saturday, The Grief Center was able to support the first annual NAMI Walks Tulsa. We loved hearing your stories and seeing the community come together to support mental health!

In the lead-up to International Pregnancy and Infant Loss Remembrance Day, Madi Day is hosting a webinar on how mental health professionals can best support their clients grieving a pregnancy or infant loss.

If you are a clinician who is looking for practical approaches to support your clients through their grief, honor their losses, and facilitate healing, visit the link below.

And next week, The Grief Center will take part in the International Wave of Light by hosting an event at Floral Haven Funeral Home from 6PM-7:30PM for those grieving the loss of a pregnancy or infant.

The event will include a group discussion, memorial walk, and a candle lighting ceremony. The evening is free, and registration is not required.

Last Saturday, The Grief Center had the opportunity to support two great causes on the same day! We were happy to be at G. Komen’s Race for a Cure and the American Foundation for Su***de Prevention Out of Darkness Walk.

These events remind us that no one must walk alone on their journey. Thank you to everyone who came out to support these causes, build community, and share your story!

Every year, The Grief Center hosts Tulsa’s International Survivors of Su***de Loss Day. This event is an opportunity for those who have lost someone to su***de to find connection, healing, and hope.

The afternoon features a short documentary from the American Foundation for Su***de Prevention, as well as table discussions and a remembrance ceremony. This day reminds us that while grief is intensely personal, no one has to walk it alone.

Join us Saturday, Nov 21 from 11am-1:30pm at the Aaronson Auditorium at the Central Library in downtown Tulsa.

Streamlining The Grief Center’s identity is directly tied to our goal of creating accessible grief support for anyone who needs it and ensures our services are immediately clear and accessible for everyone who seeks them out. Our founder, Laura Gonsalves explains it best.

For National Su***de Prevention Month, we want to remind everyone that you don’t need a special reason to call someone you care about.

If it’s been a while, reach out. Ask how they’re doing. Stay on the phone a little longer. Sometimes checking in matters more than you know.

Join us for a special evening of remembrance and community on International Pregnancy and Infant Loss Remembrance Day. For those who have been affected by miscarriage, stillbirth, or the death of a child in infancy, you are not alone. We invite parents, grandparents, siblings, relatives, and friends to gather in a safe and supportive space to honor the little ones we hold in our hearts. The evening will include refreshments, an informal group discussion, a memorial walk, and a candle lighting ceremony as part of the international “Wave of Light.”

We will be at the Floral Haven Funeral Home, Crematory & Cemetery on October 15th from 6pm-7:30pm. The evening is free to attend and no registration is required.

Today, on the 25th anniversary of the September 11th attacks, we want to take a moment to recognize the many lives lost, and honor the people grieving those losses. Grief is not a linear experience. It is not predictable, organized, or constrained to a predefined time period. What you feel today is valid, and you are not alone. Take time today to reflect, rest, and do what makes sense to you. 💙
