Tuesday, July 28th - Our Central Tulsa and Sand Springs recycling centers will be closing early at 1:00pm today due to the heat. Thank you for your understanding and apologies for any inconvenience.

Due to the excess heat, a few of our centers will be closing early today (Monday, July 27th). We appreciate your understanding and apologize for any inconvenience.

Sand Springs will be closing at 1pm today.
Central Tulsa will be closing at 1pm today.
Claremore will be closing at 12 Noon today.

Due to the heat, our Sand Springs location (312 E Morrow Rd) and our Central Tulsa location (3825 S 79th E Ave) will both be closing early, at 1:00pm today (Tuesday, July 21, 2026).

They are likely to also close early this Friday, Saturday, and Sunday as the temperatures are expected to reach 100 degrees.

We will try our best to keep you updated on any early closings.

Would you like to become a Citizen Environmentalist?

JOIN US for our Eco Allies program! This is a free-of-charge, four-class course for beginners on Recycling, Sustainability, and Eco-Friendly Practices.
Registration is required in order to attend. Please call The M.e.t. at (918) 584-0584 to register.

The first class will be on June 9th, 2026 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm. This class will introduce you to the course and teach you about wastewater, stormwater, and how to dispose of household pollutants.

Class 2 will be on June 16th, 2026 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm. This class will teach about solid waste, green waste, and recycling.

Class 3 will be on June 23rd, 2026 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm. This class will teach about soil and composting.

Class 4 will be on June 30th, 2026 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm. This class will teach about air quality and ozone alerts.
