The next Oklahoma stop on the Route 66: The Main Street of America documentary roadshow is the iconic Coleman Theatre Beautiful in Miami! 🌞

Here's another photo donated to us by Malcolm Cornelius from his travels in 2002! This is Hillbillee's Cafe in Arcadia, which still stands today though it's a different restaurant. This was right around the time our office moved from the complex there and "went underground" until the Chandler armory restoration was complete.

It was so much fun meeting these two talented Route 66 sketchers last week, Michael and Grayson! ✍️❤️

They’ve been spending their summer visiting local Route 66 icons around Tulsa and learning how to sketch what they see along the way.

I loved sitting down with them and seeing what they’ve been working on! They shared how they look at signs, landmarks, and scenery and start by finding the simple shapes they can draw. Then, little by little, they build those shapes into a finished sketch. 🎨

What a fun way to explore our local Route 66 history, practice a new skill, and see the Mother Road through a whole new perspective!
