Big news! 🎉 LaunchNW has been awarded a $1.5 million YouthBuild grant from the U.S. Department of Labor — and we could not be more excited about what this means for young people in Stevens County! 🩵 YouthBuild Stevens County will serve young people ages 16-24, helping them earn high school credentials, gain hands-on construction skills, and transition into meaningful careers and postsecondary education. ✨ This is a major investment in the future of rural Northeast Washington and we cannot wait to see the impact it makes! Exciting news from one of our funded partners, . 🩵 Applications are now open for their Fall Internship Program - and if you're in 9th-12th grade and looking for more than just an after-school activity, this one is for you! ✨

Through this hands-on program, students build real-world skills in communication, teamwork, and responsibility while getting their hands dirty in the garden and making a difference in the community. This fall, interns will have the chance to:

🐝 Learn about beekeeping
🌼 Explore native plants and pollinators
🥕 Grow food in the community garden
🤝 Help with community events and service projects
💚 Connect with other teens and discover a sense of belonging

What an incredible morning! 🩵 Yesterday's LaunchNW Community Impact Breakfast was nothing short of inspiring — thank you to everyone who joined us to celebrate the progress we are making together for young people across our region. ✨ The turnout and energy in the room was a powerful reminder of what is possible when a community shows up for its youth. We are so grateful for every partner, donor, and supporter who continues to make this work possible. Together, we are strengthening futures — and we are just getting started!

LaunchNW recently hit the road to Colville, WA for a Healthcare Career Camp — and what a great day it was! 🩵 Made possible through a grant with Innovia Foundation and in partnership with , the Tri-County Health Care Career Camp was designed for students interested in pursuing careers in the healthcare field. Students dove into hands-on healthcare career activities, a resume-building workshop, and a FAFSA workshop facilitated by Briget Duncan. Our very own Lauren Garske, Director of Post High School Success, was also on hand to support students as they explored their future career possibilities. ✨ We love bringing these kinds of opportunities to students across our region - because every young person deserves access to the tools and resources to help them thrive.

Last month, Mpower partners came together for an inspiring day of reflection and planning at Gonzaga University! 🩵 Dr. John "Push" Gaines delivered a powerful message on resilience, leadership, and mentorship, and local poet B. Lyte shared her incredible story of overcoming adversity to achieve excellence. ✨ Partners then rolled up their sleeves for collaborative sessions, drawing from a full year of insights and impact to finalize their plans for the fall. We love when our community comes together like this — big things are coming!

We believe every student deserves to start their college journey set up for success! 🩵 This year, LaunchNW is providing Move-In Day Kits for various Promise Scholars - stocked with dorm essentials like desk chairs, mini fridges, and more to help them feel right at home as they begin this exciting new chapter. ✨ These kits are a small but meaningful way we show up for our scholars beyond the classroom. A huge thank you to Walmart for generously donating all of these supplies and partnering with us to make this possible - and to our incredible LaunchNW staff who helped bring it all together! 🎉 We are so proud to support our students every step of the way!
