May was made possible by our community ๐Ÿ’š

Weโ€™re so grateful to the amazing volunteers from Liberty Mutual Insurance , Harvard FCU, Needham Bank, Takeda, Turner Construction - Mid-Atlantic , and Whole Foods Market - Medford for dedicating their time and energy to Food For Free this month.

Every box packed, delivery made, and hour volunteered helps bring fresh, healthy food to more neighbors across our community.

Thank you for showing up, giving back, and powering our mission forward ๐Ÿ’ช๐ŸŽ

Moving 6.2 million pounds of food takes more than trucks and drivers. ๐Ÿš›

To truly address food insecurity, we need strategic partnerships, local leadership, and community-level change.

That's why our Senior Director of Operations, Tim Cavaretta, serves on the Steering Committee of the Boston Food Access Council โ€“ sitting alongside community advocates to learn what's working block by block, and to break down the barriers that keep families from accessing food with dignity and choice.

"Working with local food access leaders and community advocates on the Boston Food Access Council Steering Committee helps me see Food For Free's work in a broader context. It gives us a space to identify both resources and potential gaps in the food system, sharing information to better inform our program strategy and collaborate effectively with other organizations and government entities."

This Memorial Day, we honor and remember the service members who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country. โค๏ธ๐Ÿค๐Ÿ’™

As we gather with family, friends, and community this holiday weekend, weโ€™re reminded of the importance of caring for one another.

At Food For Free, we show our care by ensuring everyone has access to the food and support they need. Weโ€™re grateful for the volunteers, partners, and supporters who help strengthen our community every day.

Wishing everyone a safe and meaningful Memorial Day.

6.2 million pounds of food.
132,000 neighbors reached.
100+ community partners.

But our impact is about more than numbers. โค๏ธ

At Project SOUP, Thursdays are popular โ€” because thatโ€™s when Food For Free arrives with fresh produce, culturally familiar staples, and even a few โ€œspecial treats.โ€

Instead of a one-size-fits-all pantry experience, families get something powerful: more dignity, more agency, more choice.

Your support helps us do the heavy lifting behind the scenes โ€” refrigerated trucks, cold storage, and a network of partners โ€” so our neighbors can access food that reflects their needs, preferences, and cultures.

Because hunger relief shouldnโ€™t feel like an assembly line. Everyone deserves dignity, choice, and community at the table.

Help us give the power of choice back to our neighbors. ๐Ÿ’š

More than a meal โ€” it's stability through partnership

Healthy food is where we start, but it's not where our mission ends. At Food For Free, we're focused on helping our neighbors find lasting stability โ€” the kind that lets them truly thrive, not just get by.

Our Senior Logistics Manager, Paul Seabury, put it perfectly:

"Food is a basic human need, and when basic needs are met, people are empowered in that safety and can move from merely surviving to thriving - I take pride in knowing I get to move that needle everyday."

Each year, we distribute 6.2 million pounds of food across our community. But what we deliver goes beyond the meal itself โ€” it's the relief of knowing there's enough, so families can focus on rent, bills, and what comes next.

When you support Food For Free, you're doing more than feeding someone today. You're helping create the kind of resilient, connected community that sustains people for the long haul.
