It’s not just about passing a bill; it’s about passing a bill that actually matters. 🏛️

The Connecticut Survivors Justice Act didn't move forward this session, but we aren't walking away with our heads down. We’re walking away with our integrity intact because we refused to put our name on a version of "justice" that was whittled down to nothing. 🚫

Survivors deserve "musts," not just "maybes." To our coalition and everyone who fought with us: thank you. ❤️ We’re taking a moment to rest and regroup, but this story is far from over. 🕯️

🚨THE FINAL SPRINT IS HERE!🚨

We have until May 6th to make the Survivors Justice Act law in Connecticut. We aren't just asking for a vote; we’re asking for justice for survivors who have been silenced for too long.

ACTION NEEDED: 1️⃣ Find your legislator (link in script).
2️⃣ Call them.
3️⃣ Tell them to support HB 5306 (script link below!)

The CT Survivors Justice Act is moving forward! We are proud to stand with the Connecticut Survivors Justice Coalition & others as we fight for a trauma-informed legal system that recognizes the reality of survival.

Sentencing relief for survivors is a critical part of the fight for liberation and second looks. Let’s keep this momentum going all the way through the month of April! 🌊

HB 5306 has officially passed the Judiciary Committee!

Big moves happening at Drop LWOP New England! ⛓️➡️🔓

We just wrapped up our first 1-on-1 board member planning meeting as we transition into our new term on July 1st. We are officially moving from a founding board to a "Working Board" model, aligning our skills and passions to take on our biggest year yet.

From New England to the national stage with Project North Star 2030, we are ready to do the work. Stay tuned as we introduce the leaders helping us end death by incarceration!

Does our justice system actually want safety, or does it just want revenge? 🤔⚖️

We talk about "corrections," but we’ve built a Vengeance Trap.⛓️ It’s a culture of permanent punishment where we tell people they are capable of change - and then we pass laws that ensure they never get the chance to prove it. 🛑

An eye-for-an-eye justice system doesn't create a safer New England. It creates a cycle of trauma that never ends. 🔄💔

16 states have abolished parole systems, resulting in the unchecked expansion of mass incarceration - but advocates are fighting back. ⚖️

I’m so grateful to have been invited by the Prison Policy Initiative to join tomorrow’s panel on the movement to restore parole and reunite families. 🕊️

I am looking forward to supporting the incredible work that Parole4ME and Representative Nina Milliken have been doing for years. As a relative newcomer to this specific fight in Maine, I’m honored to bring my perspective to the table to help push LD 1941 forward.
