State Rep. Hannah Bowen, the former Executive Director of another community mediation program (The Resolution Center), gave her inaugural speech in the MA House of Representatives last week. We love seeing how her conflict resolution skills help as she tackles tough public policy issues.

Please join us on June 11 for a webinar on ABA Ethics Opinion 518, which is causing shock waves in the world of mediation. While many are critical of it, others say it heralds the dawn of a golden age in our field. This webinar will provide valuable food for thought as to whether moves we may make as mediators are ethical – both for ourselves and the lawyers with whom we work. If you want to make better, more thoughtful choices in the moment, every mediation day, this is the webinar for you. Register via the link below.

After three incredible years as our Executive Director, Pedro Spivakovsky-Gonzalez is stepping down to pursue a new opportunity serving the Greater Boston area. We’re thankful for everything he’s done for CDSC and the impact he’s had on our team and community. We wish him the best in his new role!

We’re excited to welcome Marty Walz as Interim Executive Director. Marty knows CDSC well—having supported our work as a state representative and being recognized as a CDSC Community Peacemaker in 2011—and brings decades of experience across nonprofits, government, and corporate sectors. She is already working with Pedro and our team to ensure a smooth transition.

Thank you to our staff, volunteers, and supporters for all you do for CDSC. We’re grateful to have such a strong community as we look toward an exciting future.
