We are deeply saddened to share the passing of Patricia Lorsch, who faithfully served as a member of the Bridges Homeward Board of Directors for 18 years.
Patricia made lasting contributions to advancing our mission through her leadership on the Development Committee. She generously shared her wisdom, offered thoughtful guidance, and was always eager to introduce friends and family to the work of Bridges Homeward. Her contributions to the organization extended far beyond the boardroom. Patricia graciously opened her beautiful Cambridge home for fundraising gatherings, Board meetings, and special events, creating welcoming spaces where relationships were strengthened and our mission advanced. She also generously donated her family's home in St. Thomas as a live auction item at numerous annual galas, helping raise critical funds to support our work.
Patricia and her husband were steadfast financial supporters of Bridges Homeward for many years. Through her deep connections within the Cambridge and Harvard communities, she helped recruit outstanding Board members and connected the organization with trusted advisors who played an important role in shaping Bridges Homeward's future, including supporting leadership transitions.
Our CEO, Yoyo Yau, still has a vivid memory of Patricia opening her home to family, friends, and supporters to welcome her to Bridges Homeward.

Former Board Member, William Mostyn, reflected on Patricia's extraordinary legacy:
"Patricia's contribution to Bridges Homeward cannot be overstated. In her typically quiet way, she did many things that kept the agency both financially sound and relevant."
He also recalled that Patricia's "empathetic spirit often permeated the Board's discussions," reminding everyone to keep the needs of the children, families, and employees at the center of every decision. Bill described her simply as "a kind and generous spirit who I will miss greatly."
Patricia led by example. She believed deeply that Bridges Homeward was a force for good in the community and that every child deserved the opportunity to grow up in a safe, loving, and permanent home. Her quiet leadership, unwavering generosity, and genuine compassion have left an enduring mark on our organization and on the countless lives touched by our mission.
