Two of magnitude 7.1 and 7.5 hit northern .
Thousands have lost their homes. Hospitals, roads and essential infrastructure are severely damaged. Hundreds of thousands of people will need drinking water, food, medical care and shelter.

The situation in Lebanon is rapidly worsening. About 2 million people have been displaced, and the number is expected to keep on rising.
Many areas of South Lebanon are now nearly deserted after residents fled the violence to seek shelter in the North.

That’s why we moved our supply from AVSI’s community center FADAI in the South to the North, to help as many people as we can.

Maryam spent in a school turned into a shelter in Keserwan, north of , after fleeing Dahieh, one of the areas most affected by the escalation of the war. She left with her daughters. Her eldest is afraid. "Psychologically, we are exhausted. But we keep going."

At Ajaltoun Technical High School, classrooms have been turned into temporary for families fleeing the escalation of the conflict.
Mariana returns to this shelter where she gave birth two years ago.

AVSI is distributing hygiene kits to families who have just arrived in search of a safe place.

Across the country, more than 287 schools are hosting displaced people, while over 90,000 children do not have access to .

Lebanon is facing a rapidly worsening humanitarian crisis.

As bombardments intensify across the south, the Bekaa Valley, and the southern suburbs of Beirut, the number of displaced people continues to rise. Around 400 people have been killed, more than 1,000 injured, and over 517,000 people forced to flee their homes — with the real number likely already exceeding one million.

Families are moving from one apartment to another in search of safety, while already struggling with years of economic instability and soaring inflation. In a country where the average monthly salary is about $300, apartment rents have reached up to $4,000.

We also mourn Father Pierre el-Rahi, a Maronite Catholic priest and long-time friend of AVSI, who was tragically killed by artillery fire while trying to evacuate families from a home that was previously struck.

Despite the danger, our colleagues and volunteers continue to respond with courage and dedication — distributing essential items, providing drinking water, and supporting shelters across affected communities.

We can’t stop now. Urgent support is needed to help families find safety.
