Some of the most successful workplace partnerships start with one person being given the opportunity to show what they can do. At Ace Hardware in Silver Spring, that person is Jeremy.

SEEC works alongside employers to understand what success looks like in their workplace, then helps connect them with job seekers whose strengths match those needs. For Ace Hardware (), partnering with SEEC has helped create opportunities that support the store while giving Jeremy a place to contribute, be part of the team, and build meaningful connections through work for six years.

Congratulations to Sylvester Fomba on being selected as a recipient of the 2026 Direct Support Professionals Recognition Award from the Maryland Department of Disabilities and the Maryland Department of Health Developmental Disabilities Administration and SEEC’s 2026 Greg Gamble Direct Support Professional of the Year!

In his message to the team, Sylvester shared his gratitude for the recognition and reflected on the support and encouragement he has received from colleagues across the organization. He also reaffirmed his commitment to helping people live the lives they deserve.

During our Voting Rights Training, we talked about voter registration, vote-by-mail options, early voting, Election Day voting, and the right of people with disabilities to cast a private and independent ballot. We also shared key information to help people prepare for the 2026 Maryland Gubernatorial Primary.

For SEEC, advocacy is about making sure people have the information and support they need to participate fully in community life. Voting is one way people make their voices heard on the issues that affect their lives.
