Young people across South Sudan are training to become teachers, nurses, midwives and community leaders. We applaud their commitment to learning, serving and strengthening their communities.

Sebit Oliver’s story is one example. After losing loved ones who could not access proper medical care, he pursued nursing at the Catholic Health Training Institute in Wau. Despite setbacks and rejected applications, he continued working toward his goal of becoming a qualified healthcare professional.

Sebit’s journey reflects the promise and purpose of South Sudan’s younger generation.

Farmers from across the Catholic Diocese of Tombura-Yambio recently gathered at the Sustainable Agriculture Project demonstration farm in Riimenze for a day of hands-on learning.

Organized by CODEP, the July visit gave smallholder farmers an opportunity to explore sustainable farming techniques, exchange practical knowledge, and take new ideas back to their own communities.

It is one more example of how learning is shared and strengthened locally in , helping families build greater food security and economic opportunity.

Friends in Solidarity is proud to support this work in partnership with Solidarity with South Sudan.
