This year, 315 out of the 751 Giving Challenge organizations completed the survey, providing us with invaluable data that helps us improve the Giving Challenge experience for all involved.

June 1st is the start of Hurricane season. The Disaster Preparedness Expo will provide information on what to expect before, during and after a disaster.
It’s a FREE event and Everyone is Welcomed.

The Community Foundation recently awarded more than $500,000 in grants to 4️⃣6️⃣ different organizations.

Grants made through our Community Impact grant program will help provide household items and food to families at risk of homelessness, extend grief support services to children, increase educational opportunities for children and adults in rural areas, boost in-home care programs for seniors, and more.

Capacity Building grants, meanwhile, are designed to help nonprofits improve their operations so that they can fulfill their missions and become more sustainable over the long run. Those grants will benefit organizations working in fields like early learning, housing, education, mental health, and more.

“Nonprofits are navigating rising operating costs, funding shortages and limited staff capacity at a time when demand for their services continues to grow,” says Kirsten Russell, our vice president of community impact at the Community Foundation of Sarasota County. “With this latest round of funding, we hope to address some of the sector’s most pressing needs, while also helping them grow their own internal capacity so that their vital work can continue long into the future.”

Thousands of local students deepened their learning this past school year thanks to experiential learning opportunities made possible by Ed Explore SRQ.

EdExploreSRQ is an online search platform that helps teachers find opportunities for their students to engage with the community through experiences both inside and outside the classroom, allowing students to take full advantage of our region's abundance of science, culture, historical, and arts organizations. We're a proud partner in the effort.
