💛Gold Award Spotlight – Siddalee R.
For her Gold Award project, Siddalee R. created Maximus Derba’s Mission, a compassionate initiative dedicated to supporting families affected by pediatric cancer.
A proud member of Girl Scout Troop 104, Siddalee was inspired by a personal commitment to help families facing Neuroblastoma. She partnered with Ronald McDonald House Charities of Southwest Florida and local organizations to host educational luncheons that connected families and caregivers with vital resources, support networks, and guidance.
To expand access to information, she developed a website, brochures, and ongoing outreach materials that continue raising awareness and offering support. Siddalee also brought comfort directly to patients by creating and distributing “Projecting Courage” gift boxes to families across the country, including those at Boston Children’s Hospital and Ronald McDonald House Boston.
Her project blended research, volunteer coordination, and community engagement, measuring impact through surveys and participation. The result is a lasting network of resources and partnerships that continue to uplift families, spreading hope, education, and compassion far beyond her Gold Award journey. 💫

💛 Gold Award Spotlight – Evelin R.
For her Gold Award project, Evelin R. launched Blankets for Children, a heartfelt effort supporting infants and young patients at Golisano Children’s Hospital.
A proud member of Girl Scout Troop 292, Evelin learned that hospitals often face shortages of essential comfort items. She stepped in by designing and sewing 84 handmade baby blankets, giving warmth and reassurance to children during difficult hospital stays.
To keep the impact going, she created instructional YouTube videos teaching sewing machine basics, from threading to stitching a full blanket, helping others learn a valuable life skill. She also taught her school’s crochet club how to sew, empowering them to continue donating handmade items long after her project ended.
Her work not only exceeded her original goal but also built a sustainable cycle of service, creativity, and community care. 💫

💛 Gold Award Spotlight – Audrey C.
For her Gold Award project, Audrey C. created Identifying Bad vs. Good Bugs, a fun and interactive program that helps young students learn which insects are helpful, which are harmful, and how to stay safe around them.
Audrey partnered with Truly Nolen and Pelican Marsh Elementary to bring assemblies, presentations, and hands on activities to more than 100 second graders. She even built a full curriculum with worksheets, a picture book, and activity kits, all aligned with state standards.
Her materials, donated in both print and digital form, will continue teaching students about biodiversity, food systems, and safe insect interaction for years to come. 💫

We are deeply saddened by the recent passing of our dear friend, Isabel Norton. Isabel was a lifelong champion of Girl Scouting, living its values with authenticity, grace, and heart. She devoted a decade of service as a council board member with Girl Scouts of Gulfcoast Florida and remained a steadfast supporter of our movement. A devoted leader, Isabel believed deeply in the power of community and in bringing people together to help others thrive. Her steady presence, generosity of spirit, and encouragement left a lasting impression on all who had the privilege of working alongside her. As we honor her life, we hold her family and loved ones in our hearts with deepest sympathy and gratitude.

💚 Thank you, Isabel, for the light you shared.
