Strong communities are built by people and businesses who choose to show up. ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ

Weโ€™re proud to recognize Hascall Denke, a veteran-owned business whose support helps SRQ Vets continue serving veterans and their families right here in our community.

Partnerships like this make our mission possible and remind us what veterans helping veterans is all about.

Thank you, Hascall Denke, for believing in our mission and standing behind those who served. โค๏ธ๐Ÿค๐Ÿ’™

Jim served in the Navy. Now the community is serving him back. ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ

A couple from Clearwater had a van sitting unused after their caregiver hit a curb, and they decided to just buy a new one. Instead of trading it in, they thought of SRQ Vets. That van is wheelchair accessible, with a ramp and tie-downs ready to go, and it just found its way to Jim.

This isn't the first time this community has shown up for him. Volunteers already widened his sidewalk on an earlier project. Now Jim and his family have a reliable way to get back and forth to doctors' appointments, no small thing when your health depends on it.

This is what veterans helping veterans looks like. One donated van, one family with more freedom, one more veteran who knows his service didn't go unnoticed. ๐Ÿ’™

One hour, one project, one smile at a time. ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ

Two events. One fall season. A whole lot of impact for Sarasota veterans. ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ

The 2nd Annual Clays Classic and the Inaugural Hibachi for Heroes are not your standard charity events. They are opportunities for local businesses to put their name in front of a community of veterans, veteran families, and Sarasota civic leaders who remember who showed up for them.

Sponsoring both means two high-visibility moments before the year-end giving season even starts, and every dollar stays local. No national overhead, no layers between your sponsorship and the veteran it reaches.

We break down what each event offers, what sponsors actually receive, and why fall is the right time to commit. Read the full post at the link below.

This trailer doesn't sit still. ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ

Every time it rolls out, it means another ramp is going up, another veteran is getting mobility and independence back in their own home. It's covered in the seals of every branch because the veterans we serve wore all of them.

None of it happens without the people who back us. Huge thanks to Spartan Air Services and Gulf Coast Community Foundation for helping make this trailer possible.

Did you know something as simple as front steps can trap a veteran inside their own home? ๐Ÿ

For veterans with mobility challenges, stairs are not just inconvenient, they are a safety risk and a barrier to independence. No ramp often means no safe way in or out.

That is the exact problem our Ramp Champs volunteers solve, one wheelchair ramp at a time. No cost to the veteran. No red tape. Just a crew of volunteers showing up with lumber and tools to give a fellow veteran their independence back.

If you or a veteran you know needs a wheelchair ramp or another mobility accommodation, help is closer than you think ๐Ÿ’™

Community support like this helps us keep showing up for local veterans. ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ๐Ÿ’™

A heartfelt thank you to the Michael Saunders & Company Foundation for awarding SRQ Vets a grant to help us continue serving veterans in our community. Since 2011, the MSC Foundation has supported hundreds of local nonprofit organizations working to improve lives throughout our region.

Weโ€™re also incredibly grateful to Realtorยฎ and U.S. Air Force Veteran Lisa Sebastian for nominating SRQ Vets for this grant. Your support of fellow veterans and belief in our mission means so much. โค๏ธ๐Ÿค๐Ÿ’™

Every grant, donation, volunteer, and community partner helps make our work possible.

Corporate sponsorship dollars often get spread thin across national campaigns with little visibility into where they actually land. Local veteran nonprofits offer something different.

When you sponsor SRQ Vets, every dollar stays in Sarasota, Manatee, and DeSoto County, working directly for veterans in your own community and customer base. It's also a chance to get your team hands-on through volunteer days like ramp builds, the kind of shared experience that builds morale in ways a happy hour never will. And because we're 100% volunteer-led with zero institutional overhead, your brand is aligned with a mission that's transparent from top to bottom.

Another truck, another veteran one step closer to reliable transportation. ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ

East Manatee Fire Rescue just donated one of their own pickup trucks to SRQ Vets, and Logistics Officer Scott Rhodes said it best: it's a great thing to be able to give back.

This truck won't sit in a lot. We already have a list of veterans waiting for vehicles like this one, and as soon as it's inspected, it's going straight to someone who needs it.

This is what community partnership looks like. Local agencies stepping up, veterans getting the transportation they need to get to work, to appointments, to their families. ๐Ÿ’™

Mary is a veteran's widow who couldn't safely come and go from her own home for doctor's appointments.

When SRQ Vets Ramp Champs heard, they jumped into action. This build took two full days, slowed down by extreme heat, but our volunteers showed up anyway because Mary needed a way out her front door.

That's what "veterans helping veterans" means to us. Real people, real heat, real work, for a neighbor who needed it.

Help us keep building ramps for veterans like Mary: srqvets.org/donate ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ
