Double the love, double the fun. Meet Kit & Honey! 🐱💕🐱

At 7 years old, Kit and Honey are a bonded pair of best friends looking for their forever home together — and these two have plenty of personality to go around!

🐾 Kit is outgoing, confident and incredibly loving. He loves getting pets, giving kisses and playing with his toys — but his specialty? Playing fetch like a dog! Toss his favorite toy and he’ll happily show you how it’s done.

🍯 Honey can be a little shy when you first meet her, but once she feels comfortable, her sweet side shines. She loves playtime, enjoys being held and is always happy to soak up some affection.

Both Kit and Honey have done well with other animals and kids, and wherever their next adventure takes them, they’ll be taking it together. ❤️

Bonded cats rely on one another for companionship, comfort and confidence. For Kit and Honey, finding their forever home means finding a family willing to make room for two best friends who already know they belong side by side.

What an honor to be recognized alongside so many incredible organizations in our community! 🐾

Cat Depot was proud to be named a finalist at the Manatee Chamber of Commerce 46th Annual Small Business & Nonprofit of the Year Awards.

This recognition belongs to the staff, volunteers, fosters, donors, partners and supporters who make our mission possible every day. Together, we’re creating brighter futures for cats and the people who love them throughout our community.

Congratulations to all of this year’s finalists and winners, and thank you to the Manatee Chamber of Commerce for celebrating the businesses and nonprofits making a difference in Manatee County. We’re grateful to be among them! 🐱💙

The kittens have checked the calendar, and September is looking pretty paw-some. 🐾🍂

Sage, Basil, Pond, and Bonita are here to remind you that a new month means plenty of ways to celebrate, create, and support the cats of Cat Depot!

🎂 Celebrate with us! Cat Depot turns 23 on September 8, and we’re celebrating with special activities throughout the day.

🎨 Get creative! Our 2026 Cat Depot Art Contest opens September 1! Students in grades K–12 can create an original work of art inspired by this year’s theme, “Animals Make a Difference.”

🍽️ Dine. Vote. Help cats. The 1905 Family of Restaurants Community Harvest runs all September long! Dine at a participating restaurant and cast your vote to support Cat Depot.

And, of course, September is always a good month to adopt a kitten. 😉 Sage, Basil, Pond, and Bonita are just a few of the adorable faces waiting to meet you.

👑🐾 MEET OUR NEW MEOW MAYOR: MISO! 🐾👑

The votes are in… and Miso is officially taking office! 🖤

At just 1 year old, Miso has already taken on one very important job: being a devoted mom. She came to Cat Depot from Sarasota County Animal Services on April 24 and gave birth to her kittens while in our care. Five of her babies have since found homes of their own. Now, it’s Miso’s turn.

This striking black beauty is full of love and ready for a family to call her own. Miso promises to be a loyal companion who’ll stick by your side — and while black cats have sometimes been associated with superstition, we happen to think they bring pretty good luck. 🍀🐈‍⬛

As Meow Mayor, Miso has one major campaign promise: find her forever home! 🏡

After watching her kittens get their happy endings, we think this mama deserves one of her own. Come meet Mayor Miso at Cat Depot and see if she could be your lucky match! 🖤

Tortie takeover! 🧡🖤

Did you know tortoiseshell isn’t actually a breed? It’s a coat pattern and no two torties have exactly the same markings. Basically, every tortie is a one-of-a-kind original. ✨

And we happen to have FOUR looking for homes right now:

🐾 Rose — 11 months
🐾 Misty Meadows — 2 years
🐾 Miss Luna — 2 years
🐾 Abby — 7 months

And yes, they’re all girls — which isn’t too surprising! About 99.9% of tortoiseshell cats are female. Male torties are incredibly rare, occurring in roughly 1 out of every 3,000 tortoiseshell cats.

Four gorgeous girls, four completely unique coats, and four chances to find your new best friend. 🧡

A huge thank you to The Ritz-Carlton, Sarasota for donating a generous supply of bath mats to Cat Depot today! Marla and Micah even stopped by to visit with a few of our “hotel” residents. 🐾

Safe to say, our cats are officially living at the Ritz!

There’s no place like home… and Dorothy is ready to find hers. ❤️🏠

When Dorothy first arrived at Cat Depot, she was a shy senior girl who needed a little time to feel safe. But with patience and love, we’ve gotten to see more and more of the sweet, playful cat hiding underneath.

Dorothy still appreciates a calm approach and the chance to do things at her own pace, but once she feels comfortable, the toys come out and so does her personality! She’s looking for a patient home where she can settle in, feel secure, and enjoy her golden years with someone who understands that the best relationships are sometimes worth waiting for.

🌈 And for our fellow seniors, Dorothy may be an especially perfect match. Through Cat Depot’s Seniors to Seniors program, adopters age 60+ can adopt a senior cat age 8+ for just $25, thanks to our partnership with Pets for the Elderly
