Fabulous Independent Film - Sarasota's LGBTQ+ Film Fest

Our organization has a strong history of creating spaces that foster meaningful connections within the LGBTQ+ community. Through 15 years of experience organizing events such as the Be Fabulous Music & Arts Pride Fest and the Fabulous Independent Film Festival, we’ve built a deep network of community partners, artists, and advocates. Join FAB AF for an intimate workshop with Shoghi of Barr Aqdas Studios exploring material, memory, and transformation through the process of Tempus Gratiae.
Working with dried flowers, shells, and natural elements on wooden canvas, this immersive session invites participants to reflect on the passage of time and the quiet beauty found in change. Together, we will create personal compositions using objects shaped by life, memory, and environment.
Materials will be provided, but participants are encouraged to bring small objects of personal significance — dried botanicals, shells, fragments, or anything that speaks to their journey.
This is more than a making session. It is a moment of pause:
to consider what remains, what evolves, and what we choose to honor.
This workshop will support LGBTQ+ folks in the community in creating works to be included in our upcoming community exhibition:
“0-99: An Art of a Rainbow Life — Still Here, Still Becoming.”
Selected works will remain on loan for the exhibition.
Saturday, May 23
12 PM – 3 PM
FAB AF LGBTQIA+ Center
925 N Lime Ave
Sarasota, FL
Space is intentionally limited to maintain a focused and immersive experience.
