🍪 A little cookie appreciation for a BIG community partner! 💙

We recently delivered some homemade appreciation to the incredible team at Hilton Garden Inn Cupertino, courtesy of the wonderful Alma Rogers!

Our partnership with Hilton Garden Inn Cupertino is incredibly meaningful to JW House. When our rooms are full, their support allows us to provide our families with discounted hotel accommodations nearby, helping ensure that families can stay close to their loved ones during challenging times.

A very special shoutout to Guadalupe Montez, Manager, who has gone above and beyond to support JW House families and make this partnership such a success. We are so grateful for her compassion, responsiveness, and commitment to our mission.

From Bellarmine to JW House: Giving back together! 💙

We recently had the pleasure of welcoming staff and teachers from Bellarmine College Preparatory to JW House for a volunteer day!

They rolled up their sleeves and got to work, helping us:
🧼 Power wash our patio
🎨 Paint our fences
💪 Give some much-needed TLC to our outdoor spaces

As JW House’s alma mater, Bellarmine holds a special place in our hearts. We are incredibly grateful for the continued support of the Bellarmine community and for the staff and teachers who took time out of their schedules to serve our families.

Our 2026–2027 JW House Student Board Retreat was the perfect way to kick off the school year! 🎉

Seventeen students from Bellarmine College Preparatory and Notre Dame High School came together for a weekend of team building, friendship, laughter, and planning. We welcomed our new Junior members, brought returning students together, and gave everyone a chance to connect outside of meetings and fundraising events.

From fishing and paddle boating to games, hide-and-seek, and The Great Student Board Bake Off 🧁, there was no shortage of fun... just a few questionable baking decisions along the way!

The students also held their first official meeting of the year, beginning to plan their major fundraising events, brainstorm new ideas, and discuss what it means to serve as a Student Board member: leadership, teamwork, commitment, accountability, and service. We’re incredibly excited to see what this group accomplishes for JW House this year!

A very special thank you to Leilani Borer for organizing such a memorable retreat, and to the Welsh Family for generously opening their beautiful ranch to our students. Your generosity gave them the space to build friendships, develop as leaders, and create memories together. 💛

Happy National Nonprofit Day 💙

Today, we celebrate National Nonprofit Day, a day to recognize the organizations working every day to make our communities stronger, more compassionate, and more connected.

At JW House, our mission is simple: families shouldn’t have to face a medical crisis alone.

Every day, nonprofits like JW House step in to meet needs, create connection, and provide support when people need it most. But the impact of this work goes beyond any one organization. It’s about bringing people together around a shared belief that we can make a difference for one another. That’s what makes the nonprofit community so powerful.

And at JW House, we’re incredibly grateful to everyone who helps turn that belief into action: our volunteers, donors, community partners, families, and supporters.

Today, we celebrate the work. We celebrate the mission. And most importantly, we celebrate the people who make it possible.

🎉 Three years running and still giving back! 🧸

Last week, Sh**un Rao returned to JW House for the 3rd year in a row, donating his own handmade 3D printed toys to children undergoing medical treatments.

Now entering 8th grade, Sh**un spent his summer printing an assortment of toy animals and fidget gadgets, hoping to bring joy and positivity to kids and families navigating tough medical journeys. 💙

What makes this year extra special? Sh**un has launched his own non-profit organization to grow his mission, 3DPrints4Heroes, providing children with comforting distractions that ease discomfort, support their treatment, and promote better health outcomes. 🌟

He's looking to expand his impact across the community and welcomes support from anyone who wants to get involved!

👏 Huge thanks to Sh**un for his dedication, creativity, and heart. We can't wait to see what's next!

Today, we had the pleasure of welcoming the Santa Clara Corvettes to JW House! 🚗

After generously providing a Dinner is Served meal for our families last week, the club stopped by once again, this time to present a donation made possible through the remaining funds from their event.

We are incredibly grateful for their generosity and for going above and beyond to support the families we serve. It's partnerships like these that strengthen our community and remind our guests that they're surrounded by people who truly care.

It was wonderful getting to meet the Santa Clara Corvettes, and we're excited about the possibilities for future collaboration. 👀 Who knows...maybe a Corvette Car Show benefiting JW House is in our future? Stay tuned!

JW House has multiple openings in our Dinner is Served calendar throughout August and September, and we need your help. We're calling on our incredible volunteers, supporters, local businesses, faith groups, and community members to help ensure no family goes without a warm meal during their stay.

Last Saturday, our longtime friends from the Tzu Chi Volunteer Team once again brought warmth and kindness to JW House through our Dinner is Served program. 💙

They prepared a flavorful Japanese vegetable and tofu curry over rice, featuring crispy tofu, long beans, carrots, potatoes, onions, baby bok choy, and shiitake mushrooms. Families also enjoyed Japanese gyoza with soy sauce and chili oil, followed by fresh fruit and mochi for dessert.

This incredible group has faithfully supported JW House families for years, and every meal they prepare is made with exceptional care and compassion. Their continued commitment means so much to the families staying with us.

Thank you, Tzu Chi volunteers, for your unwavering generosity and for helping make JW House feel like home. ❤️

Last Friday, one of our very own, Jaseyrll, our House Coordinator, and her wonderful group of friends hosted Dinner is Served for our families. 💙

They treated our guests to a delicious taco bar featuring Chile Verde pork and seasoned tofu tacos with all the fresh toppings: cilantro, tomatoes, onions, and jalapeños, alongside rice and beans. To top it all off, they surprised everyone with homemade tiramisu for dessert!

Sharing a meal is so much more than providing food, it's a way to offer comfort, connection, and a sense of home during a difficult time.

Thank you, Jaseyrll, and your amazing friends, for giving your time, talents, and hearts to make the evening so special for our families. We are incredibly grateful for your generosity! ❤️
