What does it really mean to love freely? We often think of freedom as something we claim for ourselves. But spiritual freedom asks something more. It asks us to honor the freedom, dignity, and humanity of others while also embracing the sacred responsibility of wise boundaries.

This past Sunday, we explored what happens when compassion meets reality. How do we love without controlling? How do we remain openhearted without abandoning wisdom? And what does our little neighborhood Lighthouse have to teach us about storms, sanctuary, and the courage to keep the light on?

Join us for a message about reciprocal freedom, resilient love, and discovering that sometimes the holiest thing we can do is simply refuse to let our hearts grow hard.

I want to share my final project from the Wizard of Us class we had at our Center. The book is Jane Houston if you’re interested. It’s a study of the archetypes of the Wizard of Oz characters and Dorothy’s Hero’s Journey. Super fun! The assignment was to demonstrate what we got from the class. Since I identified at Dorothy (the seeker) naturally I got the Wicked Witch of the Wests Broom! The witch represents fear and her broom was her power. So I took the power away from fear. In my broom I wrote the word and names of people places and things that have been my power allies. And I added the colors of the Lakota Medicine Wheel so that fear is swept to the 7 directions and unable to gather itself to be a power ever again. Mostly it was fun gluing paper bag to a stick!
