Red Panda Network (RPN) is deeply saddened by the tragic loss of life and destruction following the recent flash floods in the central Nepal which is also home to red pandas.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the affected families, communities, and institutions during this incredibly difficult time. RPN stands in full solidarity with the people and the Government of Nepal. We are working closely with Social Welfare Council to explore ways to support the affected communities.

RPN sincerely thank our supporters for your kind concern, thoughts and prayers for the safety and well-being of our staff and communities we work with. All RPN staff members are safe, but close relatives of two of our staff members remain out of contact in the disaster-affected areas. We remain deeply concerned for their safety and hope they are found safe.

RPN is committed to supporting the Government of Nepal and communities in every way possible, including recovery efforts, access to education for children, and livelihood support.

Most people will never know what 48 kilometres asks of you.

Fewer still will choose to go it.

That is the territory this race occupies: uncommon effort, uncommon distance, uncommon people.

And in 2025, that reach extended further. 67% of participants had not heard of Red Panda before the marathon, meaning the event introduced the name to an audience that arrived for the challenge first.

That matters.

Because the strongest races do not only test distance. They create attention, memory and association long after the course is over.

A familiar face. A shared cause. And this time, the trail leads to .

Our and acclaimed Nepali actor Dayahang Rai is joining us at the 2026 in 📍 Salleri, Solukhumbu!

On 🗓️ 5 September, runners and communities will come together for red pandas, whether taking on the 48 km Red Panda Marathon to Pikey Peak or joining the 5 km Red Panda Community Run through Salleri.

And yes, Dayahang Rai will be there too, cheering on . ❤️
