We organize the planting dates, deliver the trees, dig the holes, and make it affordable. Volunteers just sign up, show up, and get to know the neighbors while making neighborhoods more beautiful. Green Space Restoration. Our trained crew leaders guide volunteers at events to restore green spaces and sensitive natural areas. We water. We prune. We mulch. We visit and assess. We want all those tree
s we plant to make it and to thrive, so we spend summer months caring for the trees planted in natural areas and visiting & assessing newly planted neighborhood trees. All told, we care for and/or assess more than 53,000 trees a year! Since Friends of Trees was founded by Richard Seidman in 1989, we have planted 600,000+ trees and native plants in 120+ neighborhoods in six counties across two states. Friends of Trees is a member of the Coalition for a Livable Future, Alliance for Community Trees, Oregon Community Trees, and EarthShare Oregon. We meet all 20 Better Business Bureau Wise Giving Alliance Standards for charities.
