Bring a bag, and take what you need
That's the simple invitation sent to residents at one of the properties served by Cornerstone Community Housing before each Food Pantry event. Those few words may seem straightforward, but they often mean the comfort of knowing groceries and pantry staples will be waiting when it's time to prepare the next meal. From cereal, rice, pasta, soup, potatoes, canned vegetables, shelf-stable milk, coffee, cooking oil, and snacks to other everyday essentials, every item on these tables helps residents stock their kitchens with foods that nourish themselves and their families.
The Food Pantry is one of the many Healthy Homes programs Cornerstone Community Housing offers to help residents thrive. In partnership with the Tillamook Oregon Food Bank, this welcoming space supports healthy eating, encourages neighborly connections, and reminds every resident that they belong to a community committed to helping one another succeed. Screen-Free Fun, Full of Smiles
Who says Bingo is just for grown-ups? Around this community room, the loudest cheers came from children proudly holding up winning Bingo cards, celebrating prizes, and sharing laughs with neighbors of every age. As the numbers were called and colorful markers covered each square, phones and tablets were forgotten. Instead, the room filled with conversations, friendly competition, high-fives, and genuine excitement that only face-to-face moments can create. Even simple treats like cookies and drinks became part of an afternoon where everyone gathered around one table to enjoy time together.
Activities like Bingo may seem simple, but they help children build communication skills, patience, focus, and confidence while creating meaningful relationships with the people who live around them. They also remind us that some of the best childhood memories aren't made on a screen, but across a table filled with neighbors, friends, and laughter. Where Quali-Tea Time Takes You
Every Quali-Tea Time begins the same way: with a warm cup of tea, tasty snacks, and neighbors gathering around the table. But from there, you never quite know where the afternoon will lead. At one of the properties served by Cornerstone, tea time quickly transformed into colorful crafts, sweet treats of watermelon and cookies, laughter shared around the activity table, and finally an energetic water blaster adventure outside. What started as a quiet get-together became an afternoon full of creativity, movement, and unforgettable memories as children and neighbors enjoyed every moment together.
Activities like Quali-Tea Time remind us that community is built through shared experiences. From creating art indoors to running, laughing, and cooling off together in the sunshine, children developed friendships, stayed active, and created joyful memories that will last long after the day ended. A healthy community is built one caring connection at a time. During this recent community health event, residents had the opportunity to learn more about caring for their oral health while exploring educational resources, dental care information, and everyday tools that support healthy habits. From toothbrushes and educational materials to interactive demonstrations that make learning approachable for all ages, every item on the table represented another step toward helping residents take charge of their overall well-being.
At Cornerstone Community Housing, caring for residents means looking at the whole picture. Supporting community needs goes beyond providing nutritious meals and food resources. It also means creating opportunities for healthy activities for children, families, adults, and seniors while connecting residents with healthcare resources that help them live healthier lives. Every Ingredient Makes a Difference
Residents at one of the properties served by Cornerstone Community Housing recently found tables filled with fresh oranges, crisp cabbage, onions, celery, melons, protein-rich meats, beans, rice, oats, soups, vegetables, and pantry favorites during a Food Pantry distribution. Together, these foods provide the building blocks of healthy meals by supplying vitamins, minerals, protein, fiber, and energy that support growing children, active adults, and older residents alike. Having access to a wide variety of nutritious foods makes it easier for families to prepare meals that are both satisfying and nourishing.
Food Pantry distributions offered throughout Cornerstone's communities help residents build healthy eating habits while ensuring nutritious ingredients remain within reach. By bringing these resources directly to the communities where people live, Cornerstone continues to strengthen individuals, families, and neighborhoods.
