Today is International Day of Peace—a gentle reminder of how much light we create when we intentionally choose connection, empathy, and understanding in our daily lives. 🕊️✨

When we chose "A Time for Peace" as the theme for our entire 2026–2027 season, it came from a deep belief that peace isn't just a quiet wish—it’s an active practice we cultivate together. Music has always been our way of building that shared space, bringing people from all walks of life under one roof to pause, listen, and breathe together.

As the seasons begin to shift toward autumn and the holidays, that search for stillness becomes even more meaningful. Our upcoming December program, Peace on Earth, was built around this exact reflection: creating a warm sanctuary out of the seasonal rush to celebrate goodwill, memory, and togetherness.

Whatever peace looks like for you today—whether it's a quiet moment, a favorite song, or a warm conversation—we hope you find space for it. 🕯️

🎶 WE’RE BACK! 🎶

The Santa Clara Chorale kicked off our 2026–2027 season this week! Last Monday evening, our singers gathered together for our very first rehearsal, filling the room with community, joy, and new music.

We’ve officially begun rehearsals for our December concert, Peace on Earth, featuring radiant works by Vivaldi, Abbie Betinis, and comforting holiday carols. We can’t wait to share this music with you at Mission Santa Clara de Asís in December!

Join us at the historic Mission Santa Clara de Asís for a powerful season of music that explores hope, humanity, and reconciliation. From comforting holiday traditions to thought-provoking modern masterpieces, this season is a invitation to gather, reflect, and seek peace together.

This urgent, provocative performance confronts the specter of division through the raw voices of workers, soldiers, poets, and dreamers—holding fast to the possibility of renewal even in dark moments.

🎶 DONA NOBIS PACEM
A grand seasonal finale traversing loss, memory, and ultimate reconciliation.
Anchored by Ralph Vaughan Williams’ monumental Dona Nobis Pacem, paired with Samuel Barber’s haunting Adagio for Strings and Dale Trumbore’s The Opposites Game, this concert reminds us that peace is a choice we must actively make together.

Hearing a major oratorio in Mission Santa Clara is different from listening at home. The building itself shapes the sound, letting the chorus bloom and the orchestra resonate in a way recordings cannot capture.

Announcing our last program of the season: Joseph Haydn's "The Creation" 🌎🌟

This classic piece tells the story of the world coming into being, moving from chaos to order, darkness to light, and silence to sound. It is one of the greatest of the choral works, and will be a delight to new listeners as well as seasoned concert-goers.

We'll be joined by the Santa Clara University Choirs and a full orchestra, along with several amazing soloists.

Please join us on May 16th at 7pm in the Mission Santa Clara for this spectacular conclusion to such a wonderful season of music!
