At Love that Surpasses, we believe that fully empowering others through evidence-based education is walking in the justice of the Lord.
To access the most current educational research on disability, visit our website and request the Alana Study — an MIT examination of over 280 research studies conducted across 25 countries worldwide.
Our Special Education Ministry exists because the best available research demonstrates that children with moderate disabilities are capable of higher academic and social standards — and make meaningful progress when educated in inclusive general education settings with appropriate supports. We exist to close the gap between what the evidence demands and what students are actually receiving.

What if disability isn't a detour from God's plan — but an invitation deeper into His heart?

That is the question at the center of a conversation we don't want you to miss.

Sarah Lowry, CEO of Love That Surpasses, recently joined Rachael Vermeulen on the A Little Extra Love podcast for one of the most honest, theologically rich conversations we have had the privilege of being part of. If you are a disability parent, a church leader, or a believer longing to understand where God is in the hard places — this episode was made for you.

What You'll Hear:
Sarah opens up about raising two children with disabilities — Autism and Down syndrome — and the journey God took her family through from grief to redemption to a theology that changed everything. Together, Sarah and Rachael unpack The Leah Inheritance, a Scripture-rooted framework for understanding disability not as a side story but as one of the most spiritually formative callings in the Church today.

This conversation will meet you in the places you don't always have words for — the exhaustion, the unanswered expectations, the quiet grief of a life that looked different than you planned. And it will remind you that God's presence meets us there first.

In This Episode You'll Discover:
Why disability parenting often begins with grief — and ends in transformation
The lie of "normal motherhood" and how God reframes identity and worth
Why the Church's narrative around disability so often falls short — and what a better one looks like
The biblical meaning and redemptive power behind The Leah Inheritance
How disability ministry reveals a depth of dependence on the Holy Spirit that the whole Church needs
Why disability families carry unique spiritual insight the Body of Christ cannot afford to overlook
How churches can move from accommodation → invitation → partnership

This episode is for you if: You are navigating a diagnosis. Leading a church that wants to serve families well. Or simply a believer who has ever wondered where God is when life doesn't go the way you planned.

The answer, as Sarah's story makes clear, is that He was there first — and He has been building something in you all along.

Today Dr. Patel, leading expert in research for Down syndrome and behavioral support at Children’s Colorado, is doing an inservice at our local school for teachers, paras, and special education district members.

We are so grateful for the Lord opening this door to coordinate, advocate, and cater food for this additional education inservice for research based inclusive education practices.

Grateful to the Lord for small beginnings in this sphere of the Ministry of Education.

“But the people who know their God shall be strong, and carry out great exploits.”

“I’ve followed Love that Surpasses Ministries on social media for a few years, and time after time the posts have spoken directly to what I needed in that moment. The Lord has used Sarah’s words in powerful ways in both my life and my family’s. After watching from the sidelines for a while, I finally decided to join her summer cohort—and I’m so glad I did.

If you’ve ever connected with her posts, this cohort takes it a step further- diving deeper into the Scriptures, what God says, how He redeems our stories, and the promises He has for families like ours. Each session poured Truth into me—encouragement I could apply right away as I navigate the ministry of disability as a mom. Again and again, I was reminded of God’s goodness and the blessings He has placed over our lives with real biblical examples.

If you’ve been on the sidelines, consider this your nudge. Grab your Bible, a pen, and a notebook, and jump in. You won’t regret it.”

Rejection isn’t often loud.

It’s quiet, it’s ignoring, it’s the obvious elephant in the room when someone doesn’t want your child and family there.

Last year our world came crashing down through betrayal and rejection— I had to step out of my career to pull Emmett out of school.

Through the grief and loss — I realized…

The grace and favor we once had was not lost. I had only misplaced it into the hands of man but God was always the one holding that for our family.
