Delta Rho Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma

DKG International is a worldwide professional honorary society of women educators. The Society promotes professional and personal growth of its members and excellence in education. The Gamma Omega chapter of DKG is one of many California chapters whose mission is to support women educators and local schools in the Santa Clara area. The volunteer work this organization does includes donating time in local classrooms, mentoring new teachers, and providing supplies and assistance to teachers and children. In addition, Gamma Omega is the custodian for the Loretta Claypool Memorial Fund, which supports education opportunities in the arts as well as college scholarships in the field of education. In recent years, Gamma Omega has supported projects across many of the local schools, including:
- Donated hours at many local elementary schools
- Hundreds of dollars in supplies at local schools
- Jared boxes to the JW House for sick children
- Kilns for the middle school pottery program
- Financial support for middle and high school band trips abroad
- Family Art Days at Moreland Elementary School
- Triton Museum Art Education programs
- San Jose Museum of Art Education programs
- Scholarships for aspiring new teachers
- …and so much more!
