Babs has quietly been splitting her time between San Diego and Texas.

𝐘𝐄𝐏….we have expanded! 🤠💙

San Diego is still home base and fully covered, as always. But our new sanctuary chapter in Texas has begun. We have been operating there as a “foreign entity” for a few years, and this location gives our long-term dogs something incredibly valuable: large play yards, a more serene setting, and the space for slower socialization and rehabilitation.

Crossing state lines has not slowed down the calls, the dogs, the trapping missions, or the need to keep approximately 10 jugs of detergent on hand at all times. 🧺🐾

Our “foreign entity” status means the Texas location is still part of our California-based nonprofit, so your support remains tax-deductible.

We’re excited to see the Better Call Babs Film is coming to the big screen! 🎬🍿

Many of you have heard of Babs Fry, she's the remarkable woman who's mastered the skill of recovering lost dogs and who's assisted Second Chance Dog Rescue, San Diego, California any time we have a missing pup, Thankfully this doesn't happen often, but when it does it's all hands on deck and she is always our very first call. Her expertise in lost-dog recovery has helped reunite countless pets with their families, and we are so fortunate to know Babs is there when we need her help.

Premiering at the Dances With Films LA 2026 Festival, the riveting film documenting Babs' story will be presented at the legendary TCL Chinese Theatre, Hollywood in Hollywood on Thursday, June 25 at 4:15 PM. You'll laugh, you'll cry, but most of all you'll come away with a deep understanding of what goes into the physically and emotionally demanding and often extraordinary work she and her non-profit, A Way Home For Dogs do. Independent filmmakers Who Are You Films rode along with Babs for three years of pet recovery calls, documenting her unwavering dedication, patience and compassion. The Better Call Babs Film is truly an eye opening experience.

✨ We are less than 2 weeks away from the WORLD PREMIERE of ‘Better Call Babs’ in Hollywood on June 25th at Dances With Films ✨

The rumors are true, there will be a 🚎 shuttle taking people from San Diego 🔁 Hollywood! Sign ups are first-come first-serve. Please DM Better Call Babs Film your email and number of guests or email the film's producer at [email protected] to reserve your spot! The shuttle will depart from Mira Mesa at 12PM and head back from Hollywood at 7:30PM. Final details will be sent via email.

We can't wait to celebrate all the hard work that goes into animal rescue. You can help by spreading the world to animal lovers, rescue organizations or anyone that just wants to see an action packed movie about resilience and everyday heroism (especially if they live in LA🤩)
