Noah Homes

Noah Homes Providing exceptional residential care for adults with disabilities since 1983. Work and a paycheck are important aspects of daily life.

With dreams, hope and dedication, Noah Homes opened in 1983 and over the next 20 years grew to become a dynamic community on 11 acres in the rural outskirts of San Diego. Today, there are 90 men and women whom we like to call “the folks,” celebrating life everyday on these beautiful grounds. We are working tirelessly to open the doors to the 200+ additional people on our waiting list. There are e

ight homes all named to reflect the strong Hispanic culture of San Diego such as Casa de Flores and Casa de Felicidad. Six are located on the main campus and two more are in the surrounding neighborhood. Noah Homes is an oasis of peace as well as a hub of activity and everyday is full of life and new experiences. The men and women who live at Noah Homes leave their homes each weekday morning to work in the community at a variety of jobs and activities. Some are earning salaries for positions with restaurants, bookstores, department stores, and other places of employment. Some are in work enclaves with the support of job coaches in garden and janitorial services, and others do contract work for local industry. Weekends are opportunities to participate in all that San Diego and the outlying areas have to offer. There are many choices each week for recreation, enrichment spectator sports, Special Olympics, and worship. Some of the favorites are Ice Skating, Padre games, and bowling. There is daily ongoing support and instruction at Noah Homes in the areas of personal care, independent living skills, problem solving, and leisure activities. Each of the folks is encouraged to grow as an individual as well as a respected member of the Noah Homes community.

Noah Homes is once again an Envirotoken candidate for Lazy Acres Market's Mission Hills location!

When guests shop at Lazy Acres locations and bring reusable bags, they receive a 10-cent Envirotoken. They then can pay it forward to one of six local nonprofits their local store supports, and every month, the store tallies up the tokens, converts them into dollar amounts, and sends a check to the organizations.

You can vote in-store and online. Every vote for Noah Homes supports our amazing community of adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. 💙

April 19-25 is National Volunteer Week! Thank you to all of the incredible volunteers who make an impact on the lives of our residents every single day. This week, we want to highlight the incredible Clay and Debbie Setzer, who have been active members of the Noah Homes community since 2017. The two of them have contributed thousands of hours of their own time as volunteers, and were key individuals in the development, security, and set-up of our Enchanted Village light display.

In 2021, Debra was diagnosed with interstitial lung disease, a terminal illness, and the urgency of finding their daughter, Alexia, was undeniable. The wait for placement at Noah Homes is real, sometimes taking years. Families know this going in. But Clay and Debra kept moving forward, and when a spot opened in 2025, they said yes without hesitation.

For families still searching, still carrying that inner worry of what will happen to their loved ones when they are gone, Clay's message is simple: Don't stop looking. Go investigate. Get involved. He and Debra spent years making sure that what they saw at Noah Homes was real. It was, and then some.
