🎃👻 What a SPOOK-tacular evening at the McGrath Family YMCA! 🧡🖤

Our Not-So-Spooky Halloween Carnival was filled with costumes, treats and plenty of Halloween fun! From trunk-or-treating and carnival games to our Not-So-Spooky Haunted House, it was such a fun evening bringing our YMCA families and community together! 🍬🎃

A HUGE thank you to our amazing staff, TEAL volunteers and everyone who helped bring this event to life! And thank you to all the families who joined us and made the evening so special. 🧡

We love creating opportunities for families to make memories together, and tonight was one for the BOO-ks! 👻✨

The Membership & Health & Wellness Summit brings YMCA staff from across San Diego County together for a day of professional development, connection, and recognition. This year’s summit featured training led by the Disney Institute giving our teams the opportunity to learn and grow together! 🫶

A huge congratulations to McGrath’s Staff of the Year winners:
🌟 Thomas — Membership Staff of the Year
🌟 Toni — Health & Wellness Staff of the Year

And an extra special congratulations to McGrath’s Health & Wellness Coordinator, BJ Lomibao, who received the prestigious Health & Wellness All-Star Award! 🏆 BJ was selected to receive this association-wide recognition for his outstanding impact, leadership, and commitment to the Y.

We don’t talk about Bruno… but we HAVE to talk about Cartwheels & Cinema! 🤸‍♀️🦋✨ Today we celebrated National Gymnastics Day with cartwheels, flips, family fun, and a special showing of Encanto in our gymnastics center! 🎬🌸 There was no “surface pressure” here! Today, we were honored to deliver breakfast to the incredible firefighters at San Miguel Fire & Rescue Stations 14 and 15. ❤️🚒

On September 11th, we pause to remember the lives lost, honor the heroes who made the ultimate sacrifice, and recognize the bravery and selflessness of first responders everywhere.

We are grateful for those who continue to serve, protect, and care for our community each and every day. 🇺🇸

This Labor Day, we’re grateful for every person and every story that makes our Y stronger.

Whether you’re here to move your body, meet new friends, or simply take a breath, you BELONG at the Y.

Our YMCA locations will be open during special hours on Monday, September 7, 2026 from 7a-1p. We will return to our regular hours of operation on Tuesday, September 8, 2026.
