The Society of Women Engineers (SWE) is a nonprofit educational organization comprised of men and women who support the advancement of women in engineering. The San Diego Section (SWE-SD) was chartered in 1982 and is now one of the largest SWE sections in the country. Our programs and publications have won na

tional acclaim, while our dynamic leaders have won national attention. The members of SWE-SD come from diverse areas such as government, defense, research, consulting, and manufacturing. SWE-SD has gained recognition from many employers that our programs are worth supporting. The large community involvement by women engineers sends a message to corporations that SWE’s goals are important.

To the women of SWE San Diego:

Being in STEM often means being the only one in the room. We know that the hardest part of the job isn't always the complex math or the tight deadlines. It is the invisible work of fighting bias, breaking through stereotypes, and proving your worth over and over again.

This Valentine’s Day, we are sending our love to the women who make this community possible. To the student who keeps her hand raised, the professional navigating a difficult culture, and the mentor opening doors that were once closed: we see you.

Engineering takes grit, but it is the courage you bring to the lab and the office that truly changes the world. Thank you for showing up for each other, for being the support system that makes the "impossible" possible, and for the friendships that remind us we belong here.

Today is about more than just a holiday. It is about the human connection that keeps us all going. Happy Valentine’s Day to our incredible SWE SD family. ❤️
