Today, on Indigenous Peoples Day, Wilder honors the Dakota people, whose ancestral homeland is here in Minnesota, the Anishinaabe people, and Indigenous peoples from many nations who call this place home.
Indigenous Peoples Day is more than a recognition of history. It is a celebration of living cultures, languages, traditions and communities. It reminds us of our deep connections to the land, water and one another, and our shared responsibility to care for future generations.
At Wilder, we honor the Indigenous families, staff, leaders and community partners who enrich our communities through their knowledge, experiences and contributions. Today and every day, we recognize the importance of listening, learning and building meaningful relationships rooted in respect and understanding.
