The Silence about Mental Illness Needs to Stop! 🛑✨

On July 18, more than 250 community members came together at Phalen Lake to walk, raise awareness, and destigmatize mental health and su***de prevention in the East African community.

This powerful event featured vital resources and local mental health providers dedicated to supporting our community's well-being.

Presented by the East Africans Wellness & Resource Center in partnership with the National Alliance on Mental Illness Minnesota (), the walk was proudly led by Wilder’s own Dr. Abebayehu Gebeyehu!

As part of Wilder’s School-Based Mental Health program, Dr. Gebeyehu is one of many dedicated therapists providing culturally-centered services for students across the Twin Cities. We are so grateful for his leadership and dedication to lifting up our community.

Here for good. Here for purpose. Here for people. 🤍

The work we do at Wilder to make an impact in our community is never done to garner public accolades or seek recognition. Still, that doesn't mean our work goes unnoticed.

In collaboration with our public relations partner, Russell Herder , we recently won:
🏆 Two Telly Awards
🥇 A Gold Healthcare Ad Award
🥈 Two Silver Aster Awards
🥇 A Gold Digital Health Award

These honors recognize our "Gratitude" video and post-metro surge campaign: https://youtu.be/zPQfDfb6YAE?si=uNaNPxnLxPkiH1Ub

More importantly, they represent the good work, the intentionality, and the dedicated way Wilder staff show up every day to lift our communities. ✨ Thank you to our team and partners for making this impact possible!
